Also, as most people are aware, early-mid 20's is a time when severe mental illness can really start to appear in people.

How is a purchasing agent responsible for sales performance?

Buying shitty products at too high of a price that no one can sell?
JK, I did laugh at that.

You would think that a guy smart enough to construct somewhat elaborate explosives would be smart enough to know not to bring his cell phone with him on murder trips and to use generic supplies that can’t be traced.
Not that I was rooting for the killer.

I was thinking the same thing...
Do people even understand what they are writing?
I hope we get a motive soon. He had to have some friends of some sort that sensed something seemed off.

Right? I would imagine they had his vehicle on surveillance at the Fed Ex store, also. He got cocky, luckily enough for the people of the Austin area, and it lead to his capture. It’s like he wanted to be caught, which is probably true. These nuts want to be remembered. Had he avoided the Fed Ex store, and kept hand delivering these packages, it may have gone on for a lot longer, because authorities had absolutely nothing until they got the store surveillance.

That's assuming the end game was to not get caught.
Get the sense most of these guys are smart enough to know what is coming.
Maybe not though.

You really think that?
Absolutely nothing?
There's a shitload of dumb cops out there but they're not that dumb.
Probably had this guy pinned by some analyst who they weren't listening to in all likelihood before it even happened.

You can buy the raw ingredients for lots of items. Surely you understand the difference between buying a gun and ammo off the shelf vs buying fertilizer, no?

Before the two Fed Ex packages, you had the two he hand delivered to homes, and the trip wire bomb. The first two were thought to possibly be aimed at minorities, then that was shut down when the trip wire bomb went off in a “white” neighborhood. You don’t think the profile completely changed after the trip wire bomb? Did you see any surveillance video of him Monday? Or a description of a person of interest? Anything?

NYT article quoted the chief saying the suspect was a person of interest 24-36 hours ago. That coincides with the FedEx bomb. I'd imagine they still had a ways to go to find him before that move.

One looks scary. The other doesn't.
Meanwhile the worst terrorist bombing in US history was caused by that harmless fertilizer.

So yeah, it seems they had nothing until he walked into Fed Ex. Just imagine if he had never walked in that store, they might still not have anything. If he hand delivered the two packages he brought to Fed Ex to residences, instead of to the store...

"Crux Manufacturing hired Conditt about four years ago when he was 19. Conditt's employer said he “seemed like a smart kid who showed a lot of promise.” The owner said Conditt did a little bit of everything, from purchasing to SALES, in their turnkey engineering and machine shop operation. The company makes semi-conductor parts for several different industries.“He was very quiet and introverted,” the owner said. The small business owner said, over time, Conditt did not meet job expectations and was given several warnings and opportunities to improve. “He would prioritize things in his own way,” he said. Those priorities did not coincide with the company’s vision and Crux Manufacturing fired Conditt last August, according to the owner. The owner said Conditt was never confrontational and there were no specific incident or argument that resulted in his termination."

Clearly the point went right over your head.
You cannot buy a turnkey ammonium nitrate bomb off the shelf, and for good reason.
