Everybody saying how smart he was, yet he didn’t even graduate from Austin Community College. Sounds like an underachiever.

Walking into a FedEx store looking like Ric Flair's son and wearing glove wasn't the smartest move.

Did any of them form an illegal LLC to pay hush money to those women while misappropriating campaign funds then get them to sign a one sided arbitration agreement and NDA to cover it up?

That's quite a jump
He dropped the bombs off at a fedex at 6am on a Sunday. Easy to review pings to the towers nearby and then work from there.

Pretty sure they got him through the packaging labels he created.
On the news this evening, they said the only mistake he made was getting captured on camera at Fedex. He had a blonde wig on, but they were able to use his cell phone to track his location. They said they used "elaborate technology". I am guessing they located him on camera, but wasn't able to ID him because he had a wig on, so they were able to get information showing cell phones that was pinging in that area at the time he dropped off the package and then used process of elimination (with the numbers that pinged) and was able to get him.
Evidently they were interviewing his roommates, who have not been charged with anything. The report mentioned that he knew what he was doing, despite being a 24 year old with no military experience or any other type of experience.

You’re really reaching aren’t you?
What triggers you more, the crime or the coverup?
You’re such a little bitch

Sequence reported earlier: bomb reconstruction indicated materials that could purchased at hardware store. Agents identified him initially through credit card purchases. Matched his FedEx profile with home Depot security profile got a description of the vehicle from FedEx dropoff and found his license via txdot intersection cameras. Used that to get name and cell from DPS. Used that to get a warrant for arrest and to search his ip address remotely. Ip address confirmed Google searches and postings. Cell phone triangulation used to determine his presence at all bomb sites and also current location.
Pretty amazing actually and confirmation also that no such thing as privacy anymore.

It really is amazing and creepy all at the same time. If they want you, they can get you. It’s just a matter of how bad do they want you. In this case, they wanted him enough.

Trying to find the buyer of the nails, officials "went to every hardware store" in the area to find customers who had made large purchases, and they struck gold with a Home Depot store in the Austin suburb of Round Rock, McCaul said in an interview with the Los Angeles Times. "The fatal mistake that led law enforcement to him — because he was pretty good at evading surveillance cameras — was when he walked into Home Depot," McCaul said. Investigators obtained surveillance video of Conditt walking into the store in a wig and walking back out to a vehicle with a license plate connected to his name.

If he didn't carry his phone with him and actually mail his bombs through FedEx, he might still be at large.

Yeah, but he also made some huge mistakes. The key is still to use cash, and its honestly not that hard to get $20k in loans even. Get a couple CC's, sell a vehicle, etc.
I mean if this dude goes through a burner phone a week or every couple of days that he bought with cash. And paid Cash for the $1000 in supplies. He would not have been caught.
The other thing is, its amazing how many criminals are lazy. This guy clearly planned this, why not spend a half of a day and drive to some remote hardware store 3 hours away? Or better yet, go to 10 different hardware stores and make a bunch of small purchases instead of one big one?
IP hider too. Not sure how that works with the tech police can use, but its gotta make it harder right?

Very true. Also why the Unabomber was able to last for years. He was completely off the grid.
Catching him only happened because of his letters to the newspapers.
I fear that psychos will realize they have to be off the grid moving forward. The real fear is someone who doesn’t care about being reported on.

well, LLCs didn't really exist during most of that. Maybe Bill coulda pulled it off, but it was close. As far as the rest of it, not sure, but There were a lot of people that woke up dead. So there's that.
