NYC, Miami Beach and Boston are more expensive than Austin.

Social media has devolved into a strange political tribalism. Real life interactions are rarely like this. Everybody love everybody damnit
This is it.
This is the truth.
It scares me when I talk to people on both sides. You have demonized each other and its sad. To the point that reason doesnt matter as long as someone voted a certain way in an election.
Just as much as you feel youre in the right because of "xyz" someone with a different political affiliation feels exactly the same.
Why are they wrong? Why isnt it possible that you might be in the wrong?

Austin is bonkers. NE Austin is sliding into shite tho. I’m moving to NW next month. Can’t wait to get out of the shite my neighborhood has become.

It's also turning Texas purple. Which is bad for America.

Don’t move here. Austin isn’t for everyone.

I’d guess San Antonio has it beat

Yep. We’re in South Walton and our house price has more than doubled in the last year.
Realtors are knocking on doors asking if we’re interested in selling.

My home in NE DFW has increased 30% in 18 months.

We have receipts for our assessments.

There’s nothing to talk about.
They’re morally depraved and have a cancerous culture. They’re the rot in society, such as we have a society.

Limousine liberals.
This is a great label.
We also need a great label for those upper middle class liberals that would scream if a homeless person approached them.

Austin was awesome circa 2008-2012. I almost got a job there after I graduated college and really wanted to move there at the time but ended up in DFW instead. Me and my wife were spending about $2250/per month of our income on a mortgage and property taxes in Allen (in a pretty modest house in 2016 mind you) before we moved back to to Lafayette.

Austin is a future red diaper city-state

I think a lot on the right are garbage. I think there are a lot of great people on the left.
My problem right now is one side is enabling policy that’s allowing violent people out on bail (or no cash bail) or allowing violent crime and theft to happen because of some weird definition of justice.
I don’t care about bathrooms. my kids are smart enough to know CRT is stupid and preconceived notions about anybody because of their race is evil.
I can control what they’re learning but still have open minds to other ideas and teach them that every person is God’s child regardless of race, sexuality, or “chosen” gender.
but I can’t control DAs and governments that are letting violence happen and try to explain it away with a skewed definition of justice and equity.
Every person on this site knows what’s happening in regard to crime in the country is hot garbage, left or right.
