Language and stipulations can be added to a trust to control if/when $ is to be disbursed, usafruct can be granted on the house, and many other conditions can be included as well.

Yes, in Louisiana, an individual can create a living will without an attorney, but it must meet specific legal requirements, including being in writing and signed in the presence of two witnesses. However, consulting a lawyer is recommended to ensure it complies with state laws and accurately reflects your wishes.

you don't have to be trustee of their portion of their trusts. that just puts you in between them and their money. Better to hire/pay a corporate trustee to manage it for them and distribute their periodic income according to their needs. Your mom can put a clause in there that if they contest anything, then they don't get anything. I don't know what ideas the attorney might have for the living situation and keeping up the house, but they've probably dealt with it before. Make sure you ask about how to write in about addiction clauses. It'll cost about $350 an hour for about $5000 or so and it'll be worth it to pay an attorney. No way you know what to do to include all the paragraphs and back up paragraphs; if the/then this scenarios. Good luck.

David is great. Independent practitioner, so you know you're getting his full attention to whatever you need. Young guy, very smart, knows his stuff and takes care of his clients.

absolutely you can. you don't even need a notary. But do you have a clue what a living will does?
it instructs your doctors to unplug you if survival is impossible. Nothing more.
a will, or Last Will and Testament is the doc used to distribute your assets after death. TRYING TO CONFECT A WILL WITHOUT A LAWYER IN LOUISIANA IS LUNACY. sure it can be done, but it is highly likely/probable you'll frick it up.
Please don't give advice on wills unless you are a lawyer. Please don't take advice on a will from anyone but a lawyer.

It looks like you are quoting me by responding to my post, but if I ever said the quoted portion, I must have been in the middle of having a stroke. That is horrible advice and no one should follow it, no matter who posted it.
