I’d rather they stop sending these stupid texts
Entergy had a lineman die last month just doing “normal” work. Right now they are partnering with 10s of other companies who have come in from multiple states to help. All that coordination takes time especially to neighborhoods and even more so to do it safely. Demco is also relying on Entergy and Cleco in many ways, too. They only own the distribution, not the transmission.

Except it’s not communication. It’s “we promise, we remember that you are there”. one text would have been enough. Every time I get another text from them I get excited til I open it. They’ve got some intern spewing out sunshine to the masses like it makes anything better.

A bad estimate can be forgiven. After all it is an “estimate”. No estimate at all is inexcusable.

If that's the standard why don't you estimate it on your own?

If that’s the standard, I can estimate it for him.
You’ll get your power back on 9/6/2020.
Boom. Be satisfied.

Because I don’t work for Entergy and don’t have access to all the information they have.

Is there any resource that show which part of the grid you are a part of?

There is quite a bit of activity this morning at the coursey substation. I don't know if they are still assessing the damage or in repair mode.

I’d rather their best estimate with the understanding that as things change (more info is gathered) the estimate will be updated.

Information should be released when an assessment has been made. Why wait til they have completed all their assessments? What happens in Slidell has no impact on me in BR

Where is that on courses?

This is clearly the case. It was an absurd suggestion to say otherwise.

Probably repairing. I saw them out with the smaller crews assessing on Monday. If they can get power to that station, the coursey, Jones creek, shenendoah, and the demco customers down s. Harrell's ferry will be able to get back on soon. Probably 30,000 customers get power from that station.

In a way it does. Priority always goes to critical infrastructure. There are numerous Parishes with hospitals, fire stations, police stations etc. running on generators. They will give these situations priority.
They have to know the whole picture in order to deploy assets effectively.
The best thing to do is expect another week or 2 in the BR area and be pleasantly surprised if it comes on sooner. Obsessing over what every crew is doing as you drive by or checking the map every 5 minutes only makes it worse.
Power will be restored.

North side of coursey near Hickory Ridge, behind a storage unit center.

I have seen BR much worse. I wish they would show restored power in yellow on the map to at least show progress

This would be a good idea. At least give a counter. So far they have restored around 35,000 in EBR alone.
