Lake at White Oak got power back earlier this afternoon
I guess the bright side is that it shouldn't be out much longer.

I bet a ton of people get it back late tonight through tomorrow. Mine came on at 2:30 A.M during Laura after 12 days and I was one of the lucky ones.

I was 10 days in Gustav. Got it late today. Zachary relatives got it back this evening also.

Is it accurate that Demco gets all of their power from Entergy? And if so, why do Demco customers consistently get their power back sooner than Entergy customers? Seems backwards.

They're doing work in Walker. The Florida side is largely back up. The Burgess side not so much. I am on the Burgess side.

The inefficiency of the assignments is baffling.
There have been hundreds of bucket trucks at Lamar Dixon and other places sitting around waiting on where to go.

Most of BR is supplied by the Nuc plant in Saint Francisville.

I appreciate the well thought out response.
So in regards to the people saying they're spotting idle service trucks in parking lots awaiting direction... what exactly are these people discussing?
Also even though lines do not have sensors that report back outages, aren't the utilities able to know pretty much where the damage occurred by which meter went offline first? Even if it's only a split second difference, I'd imagine a line going down starts a sequence of outages that allows the utility to know exactly where the outage originated.

This is absolutely capable with the right dispatching software. I work for a tech company and helped build a badass logistics platform. I have no idea what dispatching software / system they use currently but their innovation branch is LINK

I did see a ton of cars there, so it looks like it. Target was definitely open there as well. Don’t expect to get any perishable items though.

Does Entergy receive FEMA money for restoring power? If they do are they intentionally dragging the process out in order to get more of our tax dollars?
