Also could be linemen cutting lines to get access to poles. That happened to me after the derecho with my att fiber and took me 3 weeks to get fixed. Luckily one of my neighbors is a psycho who broadcasts an insanely strong Wi-Fi signal so I could bum his to watch tv every now and then.

My power came back on in Stonegate about an hour ago.

There are a ton of line trucks staging at Sam Houston Race Park.

To be fair Comcast is also dependent on power too. All of its lines depend on power on the poles. If there is no power, its equipment may have only a day or so of juice to convert its fiber signals to copper coax.

Everywhere that is out, has power… and they were up and running late yesterday when power came back up.

Their public WiFi is showing, so they have power, just no data.

Entering day 3. Still haven’t found a tree company to pull the trees out of my house. One is broken through the roof and ceiling. I need a crane for both trees. Any recommendations are appreciated. Already smelling like mildew.

I’m surprised that there aren’t companies working the neighborhoods.

Best of luck. Document as you go.

They have some but none with cranes. Mostly illegals without insurance. The legit companies are booked up.

Shoot me an email. Username at gmail. I don’t check that one much so I might be a little slow to respond.

I'm at a hotel in Waller, probably 6-8 trucks here, crews left at about 0700. I got their last room (on cheap points rates) because I booked with at 4AM while sweating on my couch. A couple didn't extend their stay last night, and the closest hotel (I'm assuming another Marriott) they found to move to was in San Antonio. I went ahead and booked another reservation elsewhere to carry me through Sunday, just in case.

I don't understand their prioritization process in the Katy/Fulshear area. The Whataburger on 1093/1463 has power, yet the one sitting next to 99 on Westheimer does not, nor does the one in North Richmond on 99.

Driving up to Waller at 0500 this morning, if you were 100 yards on either side of I-10 or 99, you had probably had power. 105 yards away? Probably not. One side of Cinco Ranch was dark, the other was not, but the dark side has thousands of people in apartments, La Centerra, etc. They got the toll tag readers back quick fast too.

Centerpoint disappearing the outage map in May is beyond vexing.

We have Xfinity Storm-ready wifi and I am pretty impressed. The initial battery lasted almost 6 hours(was supposed to last 4) before I hooked up the generator. It's unlimited cell data but better than nothing. Been using it since yesterday morning.

New outage map?

Any Montgomery baws off 1488? We’re screwed! So many trees on lines and haven’t seen a line truck all day.

I’m thinking you’d have to see he Asplundh trucks to get those trees off the lines first.

Man I truly hate this for yall. We’ve had our turn and it stinks for sure.

Whoa, where did you find this? My area shows green, but I definitely don’t have power back yet.

Well I am in the green also and as I mentioned I had electricity for about a second a few hours ago and then nothing.. so I guess Centerpoint is counting anyone who had electricity for a second as “restored”..

Hopefully they do not really think we are permanently restored!

That doesn’t seem very up to date. I know some streets in my neighborhood that have power back that are shown in “pending assessment”. I heard someone figured out the api for their old arcgis site and wonder if they didn’t just hit that data but can’t get frequent payloads.
