Centerpoint needs to offer the following customer concessions to address their pitiful organization:
100 percent discounted energy bill for a month if power is out for one week or longer
50 percent discounted energy bill for a month if power is out for 3-7 days.
Unfortunately all that will do is move the burden to future months.

My connectivity has been very spotty even with power restored
but since the point did manage to get through an email letting me know that a bill was overdue and the amount owed was $3.51 yes it was almost funny
and to avoid service disconnection please remit as soon as possible

You could probably string them out because i don't think they can disconnect for non-payment under a disaster declaration. But they would hammer you with fees most likely.

fee's would be more than the $ 3.51
I am mostly just curious because I have automatic bill pay
why you didn't take the other 3,51 at the time ?
As much as I enjoy irritating the call center with that question
I doubt I would ever get the call actually answered and if I did they probably can't access the bill pay features because of outages

Weren’t they supposed to give specific time estimates per location at noon today? I can’t find anything.

They’re not working in the lightning storm.
People will be without power until Monday

Absolutely pissing and some old lady at my office had the nerve to say I hope we don't lose power again. Bitch don't talk like that, this is the only place I have that currently has AC.

Post rain storm - "Centerpoint currently estimates 3,000,000 houstonians are without power. Goal is to have 75% restored by Labor Day."

As someone new to the area from BR I’m just shocked at how unprepared and seemingly incapable the efforts are pre and post storm. Centerpoint saying 2-3 weeks for power restoration is absolutely insane
Houston saw similar winds for Berly as Baton Rouge saw during Gustav. We were out of power for over a week in BR after Gustav. Some places along Highland were 3 weeks.
CenterPoint sounds like a terrible company, but a week without power after 80-90mph gusts isn’t crazy.

I hope i’m wrong. But I don’t have any confidence in Centerpoint mgmt at this point.
Reduced expectations go down better than lip service and bogus maps…

I Centerpoint's update this morning said they'd publish ETAs today at noon.
Mine just shows: "We will continue to provide estimated restoration times as they become available"
Also CEO is supposedly doing at interview at 4. Not sure what channel its on. Hell, watching it may piss me off more.

Without notice, power has turned back on at my place in New Territory
Perfect timing because I just dropped my phone down some stairs, cracking the screen and making it nearly useless.

If you click on your address on this map it gives an estimate on power restoration. Mine says end of day on July 12
