Yup. Everyone pointing fingers at eachother; meanwhile we’re all sitting here without power.
Hope everyone is being held accountable and lest we forget, CEO of CP makes more than the Nike and Coca Cola CEO. For what?
Hopefully you baws are safe and cool

From what I've been reading, this has been the norm. The crews wait hours for an assignment, and once completed, wait another few hours for the next one. Sounds really inefficient and like the CP idiots have no clue how to manage the resources from a logistics standpoint.
Maybe they should just tell the crews to go find something that needs fixing and fix it. Start at point X and work a street until everything is fixed, them go back to X and start on another street... until its all fixed.

CP said via their spokesperson that there was no directive from Dora’s office to have those lineman on standby IN Houston prior to the storm.

Biden cut the powerlines like bush blew up the levees

Hey look there's plenty of blame to go around and I hope all that are all at fault suffer
After the Ike shitshow, what that was Ike and all the people trying to leave and the deaths on the freeway and the storm hit Louisiana
there were changes made to the state constitution and in a time of emergency the county judge for each county because the counties are legally just extensions of the state of Texas
The county judge has absolute power to manage the emergency and there have been thousands upon thousands of hours in training and booklets and practice runs in real life experiences to inform the County judge how he or she should decide
Lina was on vacation they did not authorize the statutory moves that would allow the emergency trucks and other emergency elements to actually get into place in the right place that is a 24 hour minimum delay right there there were further out on standby County is trying to act but they didn't know the storm was hitting Houston with enough time to get the trucks in the place that is kind of what Patrick is saying when they were trying to get help Harris County during the weekend. Plus the way she and Ellis have reorganized Park/maintenance personnel away from the 4 Commissioners
and dan Patrick is a loathsome creature and as Lt Gov is most responsible for the States fault and its failures mangled tiny penis syndrome

Abbott hasn't been able to form an opinion with the approval of our own Texas brain trust,, which is only slightly more aware than the brain trust in the White House
and Centerpoint will get the shite end of the stick and they deserve it

In the front of Kingwood, trees still on lines in the neighborhood. Did see a few people walking around doing the initial assessment. No lineman crews yet.

Sounds like we needed Ed Emmett back.

Usually before or during a storm you see lineman staged everywhere in towns within a few hours away. I was on the road in the direction of Houston during the second half of the storm and saw exactly 4 linemen headed that way. Living on the gulf coast, I’ve never seen that few before.
But I don’t usually lose power over a cat 1 so I didn’t think much of it at the time either.

Here's the bottom line (s)
1) Storm was not that strong
2) Damage was more than expected because infrastructure was not being maintained
3) Centerpoint was not prepared for the storm and did't have help propositioned. I assuming the local utilities have to ACTUALLY ASK FOR IT.
3) The city of Houston was not prepared and is not well managed.
4) Harris county was not prepared and is not well managed.
5) The state of Texas should be bringing in the calvary by now regardless of who and what and in complete disregard of rules and regulations. Find a retired Marine General to fix this now.
.
Thank you for your time.

Dumb question. After seeing all you guys without power, I'm thinking of a whole home generator. Can you install a Generac with a manual switch instead of the ATS? Some cost savings with not having to pull the meter for the ATS install. I'm thinking that ATS units like the Generac 20kw and above, have the ATS built into it and you can't avoid it but I'm curious.

Drove Northpark ystdy from W Lake Hou to 59 and saw more than a few trees on lines and because of the thick woods will be hard to access. The map says power should be restored by the end of the day but I’d be shocked if that happens

Had a small one at the house I owned don't have one at the rental and can't afford it So this wont be the last time,, I do know that
3rd time in the house in a year I've been with power 2 days, 3.5 days, 4.5 days
this was the first time data/phone service was absent
the lack of access to non-existent information was stressful

Way to ruin my day. Parts of Champions Park are lit up but only the edge that abuts 1960 so I heard. They’ve been working on the pole by Campioni’s (Richardson Rd.). Several trucks are there now.
