Air cooled, but the problems have been with the controller and alternator, which i believe are common across products. Engine's run like a champ.

The entire executive management team will probably get probed after this failure, although they keep patting themselves on the back and will learn nothing from it. Corporations are merely money making machines, bottom line is all that matters.

Can the state take some of their territory?

Don’t know, but they’ve clearly outgrown their capability.

Take a look at the response to and fallout of Hurricane Isaias in the Northeast. Connecticut, like their neighboring states, saw "just" tropical storm impacts, with the max gust in Conn. being 46mph. That lead to over 600,000 power outages in Connecticut alone.

From Reuters:

quote:

(Reuters) - Connecticut's power regulator on Wednesday imposed nearly $30 million in fines to public utilities Eversource Energy and The United Illuminating Company (UI) for failing to sufficiently prepare for and respond to tropical storm Isaias, which last summer, left hundreds of thousands of their customers without power for days.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) fined Eversource, New England's largest power utility, $28.5 million and UI $1.2 million in civil penalties, mostly for failing to comply with performance standards under Connecticut's General Statutes Title 16, which regulates public service companies.

quote:

Isaias battered, the U.S. Northeast starting on Aug. 3, 2020 with maximum sustained winds of 85 miles per hour. It knocked out power lines in Connecticut and left, at its peak, more than 630,000 Eversource customers and 110,000 UI customers in the state without power, according to PURA.

Similar investigations and fines were carried out in NY and NJ.

I've seen a lot of the typical partisan bickering and shite slinging on Xwitter in the wake of Barrel. Many states are shitting on the damage and response in Texas. The reality is, most of those states fared little better in similar situations.

This should have been arranged by people at Centerpoint or whatever other energy companies well before now.

Oops. I missed that. But I just know that here in South Louisiana, it’s not uncommon to have people staged “nearby “before the storm comes. I don’t understand why this wasn’t done. Of course I am very helpful and we are just affected differently, I guess.

There was a class action lawsuit in La after one of the big hurricanes against Generac . If memory serves me correct, people in the thread said Kohler seemed to have the least amount of problems.

You realize the impact is beyond just Lina’s area??? Sorta a state issue.

Incorrect. State implementation means using local county resources to deliver State assistance.

I did a deep dive on it after the derecho and Kohler is the way to go. Generac has a much higher chance of having problems (although my impression was the solid majority of them work without issue.)

I guess by default Generac will have more problems because they sell the most. Maybe they got too big too quick and QC is an issue.

Brush assembly basically exploded. Looking like it may have been a lightning strike after all. I was leaning against is because there was no other evidence but this has me rethinking that.
