Thanks. Obviously I know nothing about electrical. It looked kinda normal. No obvious major fail, at least to me.

We’re getting a quote for Onan/Cummings .. think we’ve decided to steer clear of generac.
I may be wrong but I think Cummins requires routine valve adjustments. Just something to consider when thinking about long term maintenance. They do make an attractive and quiet unit.

I just checked the resto map. My area is set for July 17. Four more days of suck.

Center Point made over $6B last year. The $100 million they didn't get from the EPA didn't cause this problem. The management of Center Point Energy and the decisions they made or didn't make caused it.

And i'm back up and running! I'm now a master Generac tech. I had 3 Generac certified techs here watching me do this.

Ever small engine that doesn't have hydraulic lifters will need valve maintenance. I need to do it but i've been to busy dicking with this other shite.

It is just so wild to me that so many folks (~500k customers as of 3pm CT) are still without power.
Unbelievable.
Unbelievable.

I’ve been out since 2:30 Monday morning. Arguably one of the first to lose power in Houston. Now I get an email saying end of day Tuesday. All while my neighbors across the street got power 2 days ago. frick these pieces of shite.

Champions area. Part of my hood was supposed to come online today. We are still waiting. Power comes in multiple ways to the hood. I guess my part got the most f’d up part.

Thanks Owlie. I’m good. Friends broght me some ice from Louisiana. Some fine H2O. I’m a skinny frick so heat doesn’t bother me as much. It’s the boredom that sucks.

We’re in the Tuesday restoration time. We’ll see. Hope I can keep this generator bandaided together. I’ll say this much, I’ve worked my arse off on this thing but a lot of good people have helped me hunt down parts and gone out of their way to help. It’s nice to see the world hasn’t completely gone to shite.
