I'll let you have my wife for $500, she will constantly update you on how fast you're going compared to the posted speed limit, she will notify you every time a light is turned yellow, and she will point out every cop that pops up on her waze app while you are driving.

My Valentine One has been worth every penny. Doesn’t go off on stupid shite either like automatic sliding doors and other aggravating things that cheap ones pick up.

Waze isn't as effective as a radar detector. The radar detector will tell you if a cop is shooting radar. Waze is useless outside of cities and if a cop just stopped and started shooting radar.

Real men don’t need one because we’re dads and know we’re not the only ones on the road. Stop being a douchebag, a-hole.

In the 90s a radar detector basically just let you know you were about to get a ticket.

it’s the best as far as detecting Ka band radar, but it is not the easiest to use when compared to others. I use a secondary cheap phone to connect with it and run JBV1.

For simple plug and play, with slightly less detection range, it’s the Uniden R7. No extras needed.

You just increased my radar detector knowledge by at least 350%

That's interesting. It really offends me that I can't use the full capabilities of my vehicle without being fined or arrested.

Time was, a radar detector fixed this problem. I remember working a full day in Midtown Atlanta, leaving at 5PM, and standing in my driveway in Long Beach, MS in broad daylight less than four hours later. Things really come together in your life if you've got that kind of logistical flexibility.

A good one works incredibly well. I bought an Escort Passport 9500ix around 8 years ago and it has saved me countless times. Does K, X, Ka band, laser...the overwhelming majority of cops in Louisiana use Ka band, so you can mute the other bands and be okay and it won’t constantly be going off. I can count on one hand the number of times I encounter a cop with laser in Louisiana. Also, if there’s something setting it off that isn’t a cop, after the 3rd time you pass it the detector will recognize it and block it.

What surprised me the most is that almost every cop just drives around with Ka band turned on, so I’m alerted to virtually every cop car I encounter when I’m 1/4-1/2 mile away from them. They work far better than I ever expected.

OK, I'm ordering one, right after my gold-plated flatware and wood toilet seats. Maybe before the toilet seats.

I don’t purposely go over the speed limit but got a ticket in French Settlement for 73 in a 45(I was passing someone going way under speed limit)and it’s definitely time.
What?

You could have passed them going 52

Note - This is simply for software, unaware what the upgrade fee is for the entire new unit

Sent in a 15+ year old V1 that still worked because I wanted to upgrade to laser. Cost $250 and they were impressed it still worked after all the years of baking on the dash.
