Thanks, Aggie. I’m not asking anyone to shop for me, as the OP clearly states. You mad this morning?

If you buy a roku TV do you have to use the roku features, or could you installed HULU, Netflix, etc without a roku account?

Ironically, my television went on the fritz last night during the NFL game. I’m looking for the following approximates:

Around 55”
Under $200
Roku tv

Mine went out a couple weeks ago. It only lasted a couple years, piece of shite hicense. Will never buy another one of those. Most other tvs I have are Vizio and have never had a problem, so I am looking for a similar deal, but figure I will upgrade that TV to a 65-70 inch model. Unfortunately I haven't seen any Vizio deals.

You can use all of those. Roku is just the streaming platform.

I bought it anyway, figured it I had to create a roku account, it woulndn't cost anymore. Pickup in 3 hours.

I had a 55" wall mount TV go out on me yesterday in a spare bedroom, and didn't want to spend much to have one in there. This will fit the bill.

TCL is absolute Chinese garbage. The only brand worse is Hisense. I'll fight anyone who disagrees.

You might have to create a roku account but it doesn't cost anything. You can just download all your Hulu etc on there and login to to those. It'll all be set up in 15 minutes.

The 6 Series TCL seem to get high marks in reviews. Much more hard to find than std 4 series. More $ too.

For any veterans don't forget to check the Exchange website. They don't have any of the super cheap stripped models but they have the LG 65" 65UQ7050ZUD for $399 and the 75" for $579. They are the same as the Best Buy BF prices but you don't have to pay sales tax (and you don't have to report it either, not that anyone does). Plus it helps the Exchange pay for a lot of their programs for soldiers. Any honorably discharged vet can use the online Exchange, it takes maybe 5 minutes to set up an account.
