Meh, you were an unnecessary dickhead to OP who did nothing but share his new hobby. I contributed by calling out the dickhead.
As the dickhead, I wouldn't expect you to appreciate it.

Nice work my man! The only thing I think you could do to improve that is maybe try using Kentucky blue and white next time instead
That belt looks really sharp man, you should definitely be proud.

I actually attended (& graduated from) the university & would never wear something like that, much less take time to craft something like it. The leatherwork looks great, and the vintage buckle is nice but IMO, the belt would be much more appealing without the graphic art.
What a prick. Dude’s life must be miserable

I actually complemented the leatherwork and the buckle. I then went on to state that the addition of the graphic art did not appeal to me.
That was not unnecessarily being a dickhead. If you interpret that way, perhaps you're just a sensitive little bitch.
As usual, you didn't contribute anything of substance.
Looks like you just couldn't resist another worthless post?
Since it appears you have some reading comprehension issues, I will make it simple for you...
Eat a dick, you sanctimonious a-hole!

Some people are just miserable bastards by Nature.

He's got everyone figured out. Except himself.

That's looking pretty good
Well done!

Can you do any kind of work on gunbelt thickness leather? It'd be less complicated and more functional, but curious. Similar to the Gunner from Hank's? Or more formal, the Canyon? I'd like to find an excuse to wear a gun supporting belt in slightly more formal circumstances. I could buy the belt and ship it to you, and pay for the decoration, etc. Is that something you're planning?
AFAIK you can't.
You need to wet the leather (the process is called casing) before you can tool or stamp them. Only natural veg-tan leather can be properly cased. Here is a picture of when I was working on my belt -
See how the leather has no color or finish. If your leather is "finished" then you can't case. The initials KR is "tooled", and the basketweave is "stamped".
The Canyon/Gunner from Hank's can't be cased as they are finished leather, so you can tool/stamp them.
Depending on your budget, look at

Although, I don't think Amish uses high quality leather or hand tools them because of the price point.
If money is no object, look at

Gun-belt thickness is usually 12-13 oz. Most of the higher quality veg-tans I have seen (from Hermann Oak, or Wickett and Craig) usually are 8-9 oz or lower. So usually a lining leather needs to be added to make it 12-13 oz. Or two 6-7oz veg tan straps glued together.
So a high quality hand-tooled and/or hand-stamped leather belt can easily cost you $250-$300. My belt took me about 8-9 hours to make. Of course I am a hobbyist. But even if I was doing this professionally, it will probably take me > 3 hours. Just materials and labor at $50/hr (lower end for a master saddle maker) will run close to $200.

Good tooling work! I made these sheaths for a friend a while back. Same basic knife, one is longer. He's in a wheelchair and wanted to be able to carry it horizontally on his belt. The straps allow that and can strap to his bag or chair. I did the double stitch on the bigger sheath and a fade dye on both using an airbrush.
That is amazing work. Thanks for sharing.
Do you do this as a hobby or professionally?
I want to try the fade with airbrush some time. What airbrush set do you have?

I made myself this knife roll a couple years ago. It was a pain to hand stitch and required some Macgyver work to get it done. I blacked out the badge because it has my initials on it.
This looks really nice. Indeed hand stitching is a pain. I started a gunslinger-pattern belt a few months back that I am yet to finish stitching....

Nice mark of the beast belt
I actually worked a lot on this on Saturday to just take my mind off the Vandy game. This whole hobby has been very therapeutic. The edge stitching, buckle polishing and fitting were all done Saturday to cope with the Vandy loss.... I am not kidding.

About to make my own too, can't find a decent leather work belt for anything.

Thanks! I like how those two turned out.

I guess you can say both. I do some stuff for people who ask, but I don't advertise really or go out of my way to get business.

I have an Iwata siphon feed that I've been using, but it has caused me troubles. I'm going to get a gravity feed. I prefer to dye small pieces with the airbrush. You get a more even color and use less dye. I did a camera strap with the airbrush and the fade that turned out nice. It takes a few coats to get the color you want, but the alcohol based dyes dry super quickly. I spray the sheen finish with the airbrush, too, but I think that is where my problems come from. I've cleaned the hell out of it, but it still spits and sputters.
It is a fun hobby/craft. Every project, not matter how big or small can improve your work.

I ended up using my stitching pony and another clamp I made with a length of paracord running to an old porch swing spring on my porch ceiling. That held the whole thing upright and let me have both hands to stitch. It was slow, but worked.

Really nice work. My only problem is I no longer wear a belt. Since I retired it’s gym attire everyday.

Awesome belt too bad you have to wear it watching this loser coaching staff ruin our program.
