Does that mean you are currently working for the transition team? 
I did this for my wife a couple of years ago. We travel a lot so I went with Tumi. Both the purse and tote I got her still look brand new. They are having a sale right now so they might be in your price range.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a solid black Coach. Just giving my opinion bc for the price of Coach you have some other upper scale options to choose from. A classy lady can make any brand look classy, depends on the way she carries herself not the purse.

My SO has Kate Spade, LV and Tory stuff, and I've listened to this crap for years. Some cheaper options for the holidays for dudes:
Gigi New York makes wallets and such and is apparently popular with the anti Coach crowd. It's less expensive than TB and that shite.
Longchamp is still good and not expensive.
Kelly Winne is some Ole Miss girl in Texas making bags. I don't really get it but they all like them.

Last Christmas, I purchased my girl a Tory Burch and douney and bourke purses. Not sure if these brands are still in, but thats what she wanted.
