This is an intentional design to turn people into meth addicts.

But goddamn if it don’t make the bay look nice and tight.

It's not a problem until he's sticking them up his butt.

Tell me about it. I’m waiting on some right now. I don’t get moody or body aches without it, but I can definitely feel the lack of focus.

I was coming to tell the OP that I wanna kick his friend's arse for taking that much adderall per day.

It's cracked out frickers like him that are making us normal crackheads wait weeks past the fill date for our 1 adderall per day prescription.

Wrong, Mister Sassy Pants. I've known two folks who were prescribed this much per day for years.

And both now take zero adderall b/c one changed to a much less stressful job and the other graduated nursing school.

this shite right here is damn near as bad, or worse than the OPs situation...

you are taking the longest acting stimulant in the afternoon? and Wellbutrin blocks the reuptake of dopamine, which is being poured into your synapses with the Adderall and Vyvanse, so you are essentially extending and heightening your "high" with them... your doctor is either really fricking stupid, really negligent, or really doesn't give a frick

She could be all those things, I don't know. However, she did take me off Adderall nearly a year ago. I will say that even while on all three medications, I slept like a baby.

You need to tell your lovely pharmacy in my neck of the woods to hold my adderall script and fill it when the shite comes and send me a text.
They were doing that for the past couple of months and it would just be a couple of days later. But this month, the delivery is so uncertain they gave my prescription back to me and are making me call every few days. No dice today. So I have to try again Friday.

Stupid shortages.

Roll with this answer chief coming from an ex meth addict did it one time for 5 years ya feel me took everything I loved and owned. That really not that high considering the length of time he has been prescribed cause you do build a tolerance. But my advice is tell him take a break for a few days like lay low one weekend take one on Friday and none on sat and Sunday and maybe one on Monday. It takes 72 hours for it to clear his system but if he can flush it out to lower his tolerance he will be better off and he needs to stick to that. Otherwise he ain’t ever gonna chase that dragon he once caught

It is a very addictive medication and difficult to get off.

And I failed to mention he also lives on Red Bull and Monster. Always has one in hand. From what I've read Adderall causes dry mouth. He has a yeti mug with him at all times pretty much and 90% of the time it's energy drinks. At least he does drink the sugar free versions of them.

He is heading toward cardiac arrest doing that everyday.

Do you know of a healthier, not so easily abused alternative RX I can do a little research on, gather some data, and approach him with that suggestion? I mean, seriously, are there people that intend to be on high dose IR Adderall for the rest of their lives? It just doesn't seem sustainable forever.

suspect with the shortage, and people not being able to get their routine supply and having to come to grips with their situation, she's likely to get quite a few more, unfortunately

The negative side of cracking down on the legal stuff, like with opiates, is those who are addicted to the legal pills will start buying illegal stuff like crystal meth just like pain pill users started buying heroin/fentanyl now they’re all dying. Imo when you start cracking down they should grandfather in those who have had scripts and new stricter regulations apply to new scripts. You can’t get folks addicted then take it away, they’ll just go to harder stuff. Sobriety is a choice it can’t be forced

It's like he thinks of it as any other prescription. It could be an antibiotic for strep throat for all he cares, it's all the same in his mind, prescribed "medicine" from a doctor.

Sure. And it’s prescribed in a certain dosage, you can’t use this excuse if you’re taking more than what’s prescribed

don't understand how it affects some people. I have a friend that takes Vivance(sp) and it calms them down so that they can settle, focus and get things done. If they don't take it, they're a live wire all over the place, an unorganized mess. Weird.

Because he actually needs it and that’s how it was designed to work. 90% of people prescribed it don’t need it.

Maybe he can halve his dose and take a non-stimulant ADHD med in conjunction, like Strattera or Qelbree.

when he's run out and having withdrawals,

I’ve posted in these Adderall threads before. Your friend isn’t having withdrawals. He’s likely extremely sleepy from a perpetual lack of sleep. Adderall is not physically addictive, but it can be psychologically addictive, meaning you think you need it much more than you actually do. I took the maximum amount of Adderall (60 mg a day) for about 7 years. I had to quit when my husband and I wanted to build a family. I thought quitting would be a struggle, but I never slipped once. I had built up this dragon in my mind that didn’t match reality. After about a week and after I’d caught up on sleep, I didn’t really miss it much except in occasional circumstances. Your friend doesn’t need it as much as he thinks he does.
