She had a hard crush on him for sure! I'll try and dig out my Centerville shirt from when Herbie played. It's from 89! Not that it matters but I always laugh when he catches shite on this board about LSU.

That's good stuff.
Sorry to hear about your family's battle with cancer. I lost my dad to cancer and he was only 50.
Sucks to all hell.

Over the span of two months, I lost a close friend and my grandmother. My grandmother lived in assisted living and didn't tell anyone she was sick until she had stage 4 colon cancer; she was gone about two weeks after we found out. My mom has dealt with cervical cancer on and off for more than a decade.
I have much to look forward to.

FIL 20 years ago, colon cancer
Best friend 11 years ago, pancreatic
Dad, January 2014, pancreatic. 20 weeks from getting sick, 13 from the diagnosis. A very special 13 weeks - he was living, not dying.
Think about these special men everyday.

My SO is a stage 4 colon cancer survivor. They ripped everything out of him and he made it through. Awful disease, and way too common.

Lost my mother in 2013 to this bitch....
I mentioned in another thread....for more info and insight on this terrible disease (and the lengths medicine has gone to fight it), pick up the book "Emperor of all Maladies - A biography of Cancer". Incredible read for anyone that has been touched by the disease.

Advanced Prostate cancer patient here, stage 4, incurable. I am 5+ years into the fight. I lost both grandfathers to cancer years ago. I have lost several friends to different cancers since I was diagnosed. I lost an online friend to Prostate cancer last month and he was only age 44. He lasted one year from diagnosis. I know many cancer patients since I attend support groups.
The drugs I am on now were not even available when I was diagnosed. I am trying to get immunotherapy treatment now. I am so fortunate that I was able to still work full time for 5 years while going through surgery, radiation and other treatments. And I retired on July 1st !
Men-know and track your PSA. It is a simple blood test. Get an annual physical including a DRE. Please.

Hang in there Roger. Make sure you are doing everything you can to keep your body in fighting shape at all times. Good diet and moderate exercise, etc..
I have survived Stage 4 Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma twice. The first time the prognosis was very good. The second time I was given a 35% survival rate prognosis. I have been in remission for 4 years after that battle. Cancer does suck for all involved.

Couldn't imagine losing someone in their 30's to this horrible disease but the OB lost a good one a few years ago. I'm pretty sure his name was Josey Wells on here but that was about the time I started posting regularly on TD OB. They could chime in more about it but I see his name on there quite a bit.
EJW was my best friend of many years. We met in the sixth grade when my family relocated to West Monroe from out of state. He was the first one that I became friends with and now know why that was. The man did not have a bad bone in his body. We finished college together, we're in each other's weddings, etc. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him many times over. He lost his battle to an aggressive form of tongue cancer at the age of 35 and left a wife and two amazing kids. This coming Friday would have been his 38th birthday.
Sorry for your loss, Rize. Cancer is indeed a terrible disease.

Lost my mother 14 years ago this past May to cancer. She was only 51. She's missed so much of her grandchildrens lives. It comforts me knowing she has the best seat in the house...

My pops has been fighting it for well over a year now. No cure for his cancer so every day he is still around is a blessing. It's tough for all of us but he has handled it like I never could. I hope to be half the man he is one day.
