Neighbors bought a $12,000 golf cart

I don't care how much money I may have now or in the future, this will always be wild to me. The first three vehicles I owned didn't cost 12 grand combined, and I'm not old by any stretch. One of those vehicles is still on the road and on its second owner since I had it.

My parents had a $25 limit per child in the late 80s(four kids). When my dad saw that $25 didn't go far(two presents each), he bumped it to $50.

I haven’t kept a running tally, but between my wife, our two kids, my MIL, nephew, and myself, I’d say something like $2,500 to $3,000 would be in the ballpark, with most of that being spent on my wife and kids. But that’s not to say they didn’t get me anything. I racked up quite a haul. It’s just my gifts don’t cost as much as theirs.

And yes I realize they bought me two of the same kit, miscommunication between my wife and MIL apparently. But thats no big deal. I can do each in a different camo scheme.

Me: You keeping track of what you bought for each kid?

Wife: yes I have a list.

Me: How much you spent on each?

Wife: I didn’t write the prices down

Spent about 250-300 per child (3 kids). They get crap all year long. Im not about to drop thousands for one day. They have too much shite anyway.

The Chinese carts have vastly improved in the last decade, meanwhile club car and ez go, while reliable, are ridiculously priced for what you get.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

May $3-4k. I stop seeing social security taken out of my check around October 1st so that extra relief basically takes care of Christmas annually. All I really care about is no debt in January.
