When people are like oh only people who go to these br schools didn’t get into catholic. Like stfu that school takes everyone. shite my husband graduated from there and a lot of his friends got kicked out for drugs. Catholic is like Rummel.

I’m from Nola and went to an all girl school and no one gives a frick since everyone goes to catholic school. But damn br people that go to St joes and Catholic think they are top notch and special.

Why am I paying such high taxes, seeing absolutely nothing, and still spending $12k+ per year on high school because the public schools are so abysmal.

Nah. I went to Chapelle and we are all sluts. Just the same type of boys at Catholic and Rummel. It is what it is.

Ever lived in a small pond but you want to act like a big fish? And the way to do that is by your upbringing, which includes where you went to high school? Of course you have, you live in New Orleans.
Baton Rouge and New Orleans are unique in that locals will ask “where did you go to school” and everyone knows they meant “what high school did you attend?”
I’m a catholic high grad, not proudly, and it’s just sad how much stock people put into that.

Yeah, but it's also semi-private and cheap so there's a lot of demand for a private school-like education at about 4-5k/yr.

I agree with you in many regards, but sometimes the alternatives are that you pay 700k for a townhouse. For many, that's just as bad or worse.

So, in a sense it’s a great city - Baton Rouge doesn’t have that - but it has many of the same negatives New Orleans has - which is not great.
