I seem to dodge bullets every three of four years. Texted a boss during the party that he was a "frickin' homo" one year. Just have to stick to beer. We have some young chicks that I do not need to be liquored around.

You have to pay for a company Christmas party? frick that, if I'm paying I might as well hang out with people I choose to hang out with. Ours was open bar before they did away with it this year and I never attended.

Ours is today from 11:00 - 2:00..... like A.M. to P.M...

What the Hell is that about? At least we'll be able to go home early today I guess.

What kind of miserable place do you people work where it's THAT unbearable to be around co-workers?

I always enjoy both my work and my wife's work Christmas parties. Of course they usually are at downtown party venues with bands or DJs with awesome food and drinks. And the women do enjoy dressing up and looking fine.

If you want your Christmas bonus you will come to the party and you will stay until 4.

Well if you were smart you would use having to pay to go to your own Christmas party as an excuse not to go.

But apparently you're dumb and you paid to go to something that you (a) shouldn't have to pay for in the first place (b) don't even want to go to.

We had the party for our clients this week and it was awesome. Next Thursday is the party for just the office and spouses and it is normally pretty fun as well.

Sounds like a party I attended some years back. A gal introduced her boss to her boyfriend as the "HNIC". She was fired some Monday.

I'm more than willing to chip in to pay for a caterer to at least handle the turkey and ham. That is what my office has done since the Great Food Poisoning of 2006.

You sound miserable to be around, so they probably prefer you skip anyway.

For mine, it was a small office, so you needed to be there. The people I work with are like my family almost. I spend more time with them than anyone else anyway.

Buy a Santa hat, go with a big smile, wish everyone Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, eat a plate of food and quietly leave.
