That’s funny. I GC all my home remodeling, GCd by pool build. I refuse to hire white people unless it is an electrician or HVAC. White contractors are awful. They think the fact I don’t have to use Google translate to tell them something they’ll forget is worth an extra 10%.
For my money, gimme a handful of Guatemalan grunts with some Mexican trades and we in bidness

I don’t ever want to dehumanize anybody but they are absolutely a drain.
Most people that are in a community have probably been paying property taxes through rent/mortgage and sales tax for 5 years before their kids enter a school system. People may move and jump to a city:school but that’s at least lateral movement under the same system.
A few illegal immigrants come in and put 4 families under one roof. The school system will be expected to feed and educate children that have not paid into the system beforehand all while being robbed of property taxes from 3 other residences.
Expand that out to roads, police, fire departments, emergency rooms, infrastructure, etc. Then expand that by whatever tens of millions of immigrants making up maybe close to 10% of our population
The “tHeY aRE a NeT pOsItIvE” bullshite is ignoring that, while we have a far from perfect or equitable society, it functions best when we’ve all put into it.

Not everyone. I've got white boys working for me.

The solution is stop harrasing legal workers.
No. The solution is work visas.
Construction companies have always been able to apply for them in the same way as farmers. They just chose not to because nothing has been enforced and now they are all panicking and blaming the deportations when the blame falls solely on them for not getting work visas for their crews.

some people, about a year ago - illegal immigrants don't drive down wages for americans
those same people, now - construction and other trades are about to get a lot more expensive
It's truly amazing isn't it?

I’ve said I don’t want any non-violent illegal to just be deported willy nilly. There should have been an amnesty period where if you as an employer or gainfully employed immigrant wanted to get right and were willing to do the steps, you could get in line and start the process.
After a certain point if you hadn’t self reported or deported all bets were off. No excuses.

Gotcha..... But you're 309k house is now 699k.....MAGA bitch
What do you think will happen to RE prices if we have to house 20 million fewer people?
I will help you connect the dots.
Go ahead and tell us what you think will happen to rental rates when we have a surplus of rentals?
If you said rental rates will drop then you are correct.
Then when you real estate investors will sell many of those houses due to decreased demand you will be onto something instead of just hyperbole.
It's already happening in Florida.

It’s all a big human trafficking operation
One guy speaks Spanish and is a citizen most likely because he was born here to illegals. he starts a business and imports his cousins. He buys a shitty house and puts like 15 people in it that all pay rent and work for him under the table. He can rent them cars too if he wants. He has power over them because they don’t speak the language and have limited means to conduct anything but cash transactions
ETA: and they all have food stamps and have like 7 kids
It isn’t just construction, and it’s not just Mexicans. It’s also restaurants, nail salons, massage parlors, etc. I’m not condemning them, I’d do it too but the loophole needs to be closed regardless
ETA2: one of y’all’s beloved restaurants works with this model it’s not just greasy food trucks

First off, we aren’t going to get rid of 2MM people, let alone 20MM.
Second, nobody wants to live where the migrants be staying.

Oh what a shame that the builders have to have lower margins after years of pillaging the market.

We were already well over 1000 per day after only a week in then ICE stopped doing daily updates. We were at only 1000 because their priority has been the criminals that they have records of. Kirsti Noem and Tom Homan have said that criminals are their priority right now. Wait until they just start doing sweeping deportations.
Also, Trump is ending subsidies for them via an EO. Many will self-deport as soon as he does.
There was a news clip last week of a whole neighborhood of illegals moving from TX to Cali because they said Cali would protect them.

You have no idea. Many landlords have been taking money from the Biden admin to house illegals in some very nice houses. Sure there will be some shite houses left vacant but all of you are naive if you think illegals weren't being housed in some decent areas by Biden.

Im somewhat bitter because I found a spot where I could buy a run down house every year and fix it up and get good rent for it but someone using this model came and bought like 10 houses at once which drove sale prices up like 40% and they still haven’t come down
