They tell you no three times. On the fourth time the rabbi will let you move forward but you need a good reason for the change.
Assuming this isn't a joke that's over my head, what is considered a good reason?

Ivanka Trump managed it. Look into how she did it.
Next time details would be helpful (see below). It seems like I have a long and trying journey coming up that will undoubtedly be worth it. It can just be difficult to find a Jewish partner because they often judge you for not being Jewish.
Ivanka Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism in 2009 before marrying her husband, Jared Kushner, to share a unified faith and lifestyle, describing it as a "great life decision" that provides a "blueprint for family connectivity". She underwent studies with Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, adopted a kosher diet, and observes the Shabbat.
Key reasons and context for her conversion include:
Marriage and Family: She converted to marry Jared Kushner, whose family is Orthodox Jewish, creating a shared religious life for their family.
Lifestyle and Tradition: Ivanka described herself as a "modern" yet "traditional" person, finding that Judaism provided a meaningful structure.
Observance: She and her family observe the Jewish Sabbath, which she has noted is a vital, "intimate" time for family bonding.
Commitment to Faith: Despite initial separation due to religious differences, her commitment to the conversion process was significant.
Ivanka has largely kept the details of her conversion private, calling it an "intimate" journey, though her father, Donald Trump, has often praised her decision and her love for Israel.

Might be a fee but at least you’ll get your peen sucked by a rabbi if you’re into that sort of thing.

This isn’t true.

I’ve decided that I want to convert for the powerful networking opportunities and connections. But apparently they won’t let me convert because my parents are not Jewish. Any way around this?

Converting to Judaism
Day one of training requires you to take two pennies and practice squeezing them as hard as you can. Do that for a week and get back to me

That isn’t true at all.
I wonder if I could forge documents of my ancestry?

If your mother is Jewish you don't have to convert.

We discussed conversion with a rabbi.
My mother in law was Baptist and converted to Judaism.
Judaism is passed down through the female.
That is the truth.

Converting just for the wedding and not actually belief felt like the incorrect thing to do.
My wife is Jewish, therefore my daughter is Jewish,

Agree with that logic.

Why do they make it so hard? Whereas if you want to become a Baptist or Catholic you can just walk right in and get your religion card.
Converting to Judaism is generally considered a rigorous and lengthy process that typically takes one to three years to complete. It is often described more as "naturalization" into a people than a simple religious conversion, as it requires adopting a new culture, history, and community in addition to a faith.

I’m Jewish. Just being Jewish doesn’t get you networking opportunities. You have to be part of the old money crowd or you’re a nobody.
