Has "right" made it's way yet?
What we need to do, right, is find new ways to leverage synergies, right, because that's what our customers expect, right, and quite frankly why they pay us, right?
Absolutely, we "right-size" a project for a client which usually means use "right-shore consultants" because outsource or off-shore is a bad word.

Wwell frick I dont wanna pay millions for VMWare /(Insert Provider for VM/Automation) stuff, lets get some stiffs from India to use this freeware platform to create automation tools that break in the States that then wind up on my desk to fix, and by then some bean counter fired an entire team because of said tool
I'll take you up on that beer

can't right now, got to remain mission critical until we find the sweet spot, matrix structure demands that we stick to our core competency on this

this thread is both my favorite and most hated at the same time. I laugh at this shite, but at the same time die a little with each reading of BS.

Oh!
The newest joke around the building is that the CEO's plan would work if we executed it properly
This is after announcing an email that all the women in the company would be getting extra money for being a woman.
fricking EURO companies.

ours is... PACING.
Are we on the critical path with this project or should we pace this one to optimize the others?

This thread content infuriated me so much I actually registered.... cant believe I was part of that world for 18 years.
I swear on the soul of my father, Domingo Montoya a Sonic'esque knuckle check is coming if somebody comes at me with this crap ever again ... anyone who actually talks like should die of gonorrhea today before sundown today.
Not just TD hatred either

We're up to three different scanning tools/services. One of these bastards goes down good luck even pushing updates to dev and test servers.

In my line of work I'm pretty much immune to all that bullshite, even though I'm technically in a "corporate" environment.
I got my fill of that crap in the military though.

I'm changing my LinkedIn profile to describe me as "Thought leader and adviser to Fortune 500 executives." That should get the consulting VP's and partners all hot and bothered ready to give me a raise.

This makes me irrationally angry every time I see it. Almost as much as "influencer" on social media.

glad you're on board with this, let me give you a heads up to bring you up to speed on this, we've all been working in silos for some time, now that you're here you'll be able to focus on a critical area for us until you're ready to take the lead on this

But make sure to time-box this task so not too much time is spent on this.

What’s scary is you can really see how groupthink can spread and cause a toxic culture at some of these corporations. So many people get promoted because they look and act the part, not because they are actually productive or have superior expertise about their field.
There are some smart people in corporate America, but there are a ton of people who have no business being in their job and just shuffle around putting on a show. They get promoted because they don’t ruffle any feathers and know how to look like a another cog in the system.
