I've done the training 4 or 5 times. I've also worked with folks that have been down in helicopters that made it. (One guy went down 3 times and another went down once) I've also worked with guys that didn't make it. It all depends on how the helo comes in.

The reason it is required is because some outfit in Italy I think did the training and their helo went down. 16 people made it out safely. It became an industry standard to do the training.

This is the training men and women take in order to fly in a helicopter to work offshore globally (Gulf of Mexico, North Sea, West Africa, Northeast Atlantic etc)

I've done T-HUET a couple times, but hope to never have to use the "skills" in real life.

He is a Night stalker. He said it was a drop in full kit it may have been outside of the helo but they way he described it it sounded like he was strapped in.

He isn’t done with SERE yet has to wait until after the holidays because they aren’t sending anyone anywhere (school wise) over Thanksgiving or Christmas. They want them home with families.

The NS actually do an amazing job of watching guys time when not deployed. Makes sense as much as they are deployed.

Yes. Rescue/Master Diver certified. So the first intimidating factor (water ) is not present. Secondly, I have experience in underwater, overhead environments.
Couple in some other factors and I think I can escape.

I’ve done both HUET and T-HUET. The only difference between the two is when you add the “T” you pay an extra $200 There was a guy that used to work for my company that survived four helicopter crashes in the gulf. People used to go home when they saw him pulling up to Bootheville or Galliano.

Don't tell the training staff you're a good swimmer though, they'll stick you in the back behind the Cracker Barrel baws
