1st page and we have 6 people who are convinced that, yes, a divine power has reached out to OP through his dreams.

What if he had dreamt of planting fig trees next to a church? Is that god trying to tell him to become a farmer? Have children and raise them in the church?

I dreamt of Ganesh once. Was Ganesh also trying to tell me to do something?

I doubt the end game to this is going to be one of us OTers pointing you in the right direction, but I'll give it a shot.

My dad is like that. A genuinely nice guy. I've talked to him in the past, and he feels that he is good because of his actions.

Unfortunately, the only way we can please God is through faith. Or fortunately, because it's so easy. Maybe you should pray for God to point you in the right direction. I don't care if you haven't been to church in five decades, God will respond.

Could be the start of the most exciting time of your life. If you begin to pay attention you WILL be mocked and questioned. Just stay the course and take one step at a time.

I would be praying and take the dream as a wake up call. Being good doesn't get you to heaven. Being forgiven, getting saved, and following Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. Alot of "good" people won't sniff heaven. Maybe you had this dream to help your doubts.

Earlier in life, I had been saved, baptized, went to church every Sunday, etc. as I grew older, it just became harder and harder to believe.

To be honest, that's how my childhood went. Believed, baptized, then as I got older I began to doubt and then fully disbelieve.

The thing is, you are now marked. God isn't going to give you up without a fight. I think you're about to go on a very fun ride. Welcome to the narrow path

Im assuming you want a Christian perspective since your dream seems to have elements of Christianity.

The wheel is the distractions of life. The demons/devil are spinning you and whispering in your ear to confuse you and to distract you from the cross. I think the small crosses are the Christians around you. The light is your time running out.

The absurd things the devil is communicating to you are that you are ok just being a good guy and a good father and that you live ok.

The problem is, your standard for "good" in God's eyes is Jesus Christ, making you not so good and condemned.

HOWEVER, the big cross in your dreams represents the grace that Jesus provided by that very cross. You cant "good' your way to salvation. There is no righteous path that you must follow to earn salvation. You simply need to get off the wheel.

Amen BigEd

The right things are not enough. That's a big thing that some have a hard time with.

The one thing I know for a fact is that I am no better than those who don't believe. Belief is the only separation.

More of a religious thread risk. I am an atheist, and I equate believing in any "God" or organized religion to believing in Santa Clause, the Tooth Fairy, etc. They are both ridiculous and silly things we lie to our kids about.

Therefore, I am smarter than you........

Well, let's just assume this is a message from God. According to the Bible (I'm sure I will be bashed) living "right" is not enough.

However, I'm glad you are living "right". A lot of Christian's can't even do that. If we could have more Christian's who can get the living "right" part down, it would be great.

For anyone reading this thread and thinking that some of these posters sound kind of nuts, you are not crazy.

These people literally believe that faith (believing without evidence) is more important to a divine being than being a good person.

A murderer who is very gullible or susceptible to new ideas can be converted on his deathbed, repent for his sins, accept Jesus, and he goes to "heaven."

However, God chooses not to reward the man who tells the truth, abstains from violence, honors those around him, and does generous good works for others. He doesn't believe in the right religious theory, so no heaven.

God is more concerned with your affinity to believe in things you cannot perceive or prove than he is with the type of conscious decisions you make in life or the love you show others.

If that sounds crazy and cultish to you, it's because it is.

Sounds like you passed out watching wheel of fortune and The Exorcist played next. I wouldn't think too much of it.

Don't false prophet in here bro. It's as clear as day in Romans that we are not saved by works (living right) but by faith.

Faith in what? That Jesus was the son of God born of a virgin, sent to earth to teach us and be sacrificed for us. He is the Lamb of God, the righteous sacrifice. Simply believing that is what happened is half the battle, the other half is believing that you can be forgiven by simply asking it.
