Ignorant people electing a POS governor and mayor will not do anything to fix the many problems in this city. Baton Rouge is a shithole, and I'm getting too old to put up with this crap. Planning on leaving soon, good luck to those remaining, y'all are going to need it.

If rats and Vermin were infesting and she destroying your home would you try to be positive about it? "Well at least they aren't on fire. "

People are pissed because we have a shitty race baiter mayor who gives money and jobs to shitty race baiting people, who then criminalize our police and our good citizens by shitty race baiting

I have lived in 6 places (for a legitimate length of time) in my life. 5 of those places I'd live again no questions asked, but I wouldn't move back to Baton Rouge if my life depended on it.
It is literally the biggest shite hole in the south, and only Detroit and Newark are worse in the entire country.

Baton Rouge is like the walking dead except the zombies are hobos and those bucket people collecting money for suspicious causes
It's literally at every intersection

Oooo, BR has a website! Who could complain?

I also feel like we have a lot coming to Baton Rouge in the near future.
Will never pan out with the current administration. More will leave than will come and the ones that come aren't what a city needs to better itself.

Nevermind, you've been here for a handful of years trying to tell the lifers what's up.
TLDR: Go frick yourself, you're wrong. BR is on the verge of burning.

I feel like this board has multiple threads every week regarding the problems with our city.
You mean your city. I've never lived there.
Baton Rouge to me is like the new New Orleans. Certain parts of the city are nice but as a whole, not so much.

If you think Baton Rouge is a nice place to live, then God bless you. It isn't the worst place in the world, but it's on the list.

folks on this board are some of the most self deprecating I have ever seen....constantly criticizing everything about the state, city and university. I am always amazed at how little pride we have in these things.
We have a ton of pride when asked by a outsider. But when talking amongst ourselves, criticism is necessary.

If you never lived outside of Baton Rouge or the area near by, you'll never understand how bad Baton Rouge is. Not the worst, but far from the best.

One of those things is not like the other...

I lived in Baton Rouge for a little under two years and loved it. But a lot of that may have had to do with the fact that I grew up in Laplace

BR is a great place to live as long as you move to the LP or Prairieville to raise your kids in a safe environment. BR proper has declined steadily since the early 90's, and will continue to go down as long as we elect idiot governors and mayors. Jindal, Edwards and Broome are perfect examples of nincompoop politicians who aren't qualified to manage a Burger King much less a state or city.
I chose to move my family out of BR over 10 years ago, and it was the best move for us. Good schools, nice neighbors, safe neighborhoods, store clerks that say " thank you" and treat you like a human being are all a big plus to leaving BR. But hey.........BR is a great place!!!
