Surprised the weather people around here haven't done this to the models yet . Seems like they always draw a line straight to New Orleans

Florida panhandle.. close enough

GFS is really insisting on Danny staying together and becoming a monster. That's like 4 runs in a row now right? Luckily it's been bombing the early intensification for just as long.

Isn't Stormy Daniels the stripper from Baton Rouge?

I really wasn't that far off . It'll be interesting to see if it intensifies within 24hr, shear, and what direction it takes. How much would hitting Puerto Rico or Cuba weaken the storm?

And these things always shift one way or the other so it'll be interesting for sure

Slightly off topic but do you work in weather/meteorology?

The upgraded GFS has been really disappointing at times...

It is just absolutely thrashing around trying to figure what it wants to do from 500 up to 200mb out ahead of the system. It would be comical if so many downstream products didn't depend on it.

the guys here have been completely disregarding the GFS for tropical forecasting all season long... with pretty good reason. It's gotten really bad.

So, is this thing going to stay away from the Florida panhandle this weekend? That would be nice. TIA.
