Looks like it is almost moving due NW in the latest loops, although it is probably just an illusion as the system becomes disorganized. That being said, the models seemed to suggest almost a westerly direction, so I would think a NW direction could push it north of the Caribbean Sea / Hispaniola.

Yeah, motion is very deceptive this evening. It is really hard to tell what the center is actually doing without a more recent microwave pass. The 1-min scans are showing a nice burst of convection going up just to the W/NW of where the center should be.

It looks like a bubble into the air has formed out in front of it, almost like it's clearing a path for itself.
I'm an idiot with weather and stuff so just posting pretty pictures basically.

5 day forecast map (as of 5 am EDT) shows it running just north of Hispaniola and Cuba on a WNW track, but with it down to a TD at that point as well.
