If you're a millennial and you are handed a brand new 2019 or 2020 car what is there to lust after and desire for when you get older?
I wish I would have been able to get a 2019 in 2003.

Not nearly as much of an issue on southwest cars, and it's not very hard to look for

Where are you from HempHead? At the risk of sounding gay, I feel like we're kindred spirits. We're into all the same things and we think almost identically.

Another possible difference is that when Boomers and to a lesser extent gen-xers were growing up, their parents didn't automatically give them a brand new car(or <5yrs old). Millennials lack of interest in cars of their generation is likely a result of helicopter parenting and the 'spare the rod, spoil the child" raisin' that was all the rage when Millennials were coming up. If you were a Boomer or a Gen-Xer you were likely buying a car that was definitely used, likely 10 years old or older and you had to pay for it yourself working a part-time job. That means that the cars that were new during the time you were growing up weren't attainable and therefore you lusted after them so when you got older and you finally had some money that's what you wanted to buy. If you're a millennial and you are handed a brand new 2019 or 2020 car what is there to lust after and desire for when you get older?
Damn. Savage's thread from a few days ago claimed the high school parking lots were filled with Chargers, Camaros, Chevelles (SS of course) etc. And that was the norm. Did he lie about what it was like back then? Impossible!

Slightly less HP.
A lot more torque.
Without a turbo.
Focus ST
Maximum Horsepower 252 @ 5500
Maximum Torque 270 @ 2500
Firebird Formula w/350
Maximum Horsepower 230 @ 4400
Maximum Torque 330 @ 3200
Pretty close, the little turbo 4 smashes the other configs with the 305 but it is still a little FWD car. Fun to zip around town in but doesn't compare to RWD w/V8. Wouldn't mind one of the new Mustang GTs or Camaro SS.

Desert cars are the best.
No doubt they are, but The southern cars, that aren't from near the coast, are pretty damn good too.
This area where I live, is almost crowded with nice old Muscle cars. Especially Mopars.

Another person that has no idea how old millennials actually are. Millennials were getting their first cars in the mid nineties to early 2000s. Anyone getting their first car from their parents as a 2020 is about 12 years too young to be a millennial

Know lots of millennials with classic cars.
But we’re in our 20s and 30s... did you have $30k to dump into a project car at that age? Think about things before you post. Ask this question again in like 25 years and then you might get some yes answers

I'm a "millennial" (currently 32) and I've had multiple, I love them.
Had a 72 Dodge Dart and a 70 Chevelle at one point, did my own work restoring both. Also had a new Challenger R/T because I loved how the appearance was similar to the classic Challenger.

There's nothing wrong with a Civic, Camry, Corolla, etc.,
They're reasonably priced, efficient, and reliable. Pretty practical choice for someone who isn't a gearhead or flush with cash.

I have more important things to spend money on like fishing lures, camping gear, and boats and boat maintenance and knives and guns and healthcare cause it's expensive cause boomers are old and causing the whole system to be more expense cause they live longer now which is kind of a good thing but I honestly don't like driving. I like getting there. Then camping and hiking or fishing. I have no need to cruise around on a Saturday afternoon in a convertible because it never fails I will be up behind some truck spewing diesel exhaust.

My first car was a Honda Civic, hence my name. With that car I learned how to wrench on cars and installed my own intake, header and exhaust.

Yea that comment was a little ill informed given the Civic's status in the tuner world.

The new U.S. Honda Civic Type-R was released about 15-20 years too late.
