Key word.
I threw that in because some may know more than he & I do. Based on what I'm seeing it won't be many though.

Cars in general just don’t interest me. Can’t wait for autonomous vehicles.
Then you can spend the money on that lovely dinette set you've been wanting and FINALLY....those Louboutin high heels.

BTW bob, your tractor is probably a classic.

I recently had a '53 Ford that was totally restored.

Poor PTO arrangement didn't matter, a round around the property and it went back in the shed.

Cars are overkill for most people and the unsafe, gas guzzling cars from the 70's are an abomination to society and the environment.

did you have $30k to dump into a project car at that age?

Nope. I bought my Mustang when I was 19 and I saved money from part time jobs and worked on it a little at a time. I did my best with limited resources but I learned an incredible amount about cars. It wasn't a Barrett-Jackson car but it was/is something I'm proud of. Now that I'm older and have more disposable income I've started on a full re-restoration. This time I have the knowledge and the funds to do a better job.

I did the same thing with a 70 1/2 Z-28, when I was in my early 20s, it wasn't that old of a car, then, but the owner had torn the engine down and never did put it back together. It took several years for me to get it finished but I finally did. Wish I had kept it.

Based on data from 16 vehicles, 367 fuel-ups and 40,398 miles of driving, the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro gets a combined Avg MPG of 9.78 with a 0.38 MPG margin of error.

Not even 10mpg and some big arse displacement engine cranking out maybe 350HP on a good day.

Bunch of boomers with their jimmies rustled in here.

The new cars perform so much better it makes owning a classic car a joke.

Not saying as a millenial that I would want a modern muscle car. They are for the smart boomers but they are gas guzzlers too and no one needs more than 200HP.

More people should be on bikes. I commute to my job 3 days a week either by bike or skateboard. If more people lived in cities and public transportation was a real thing like in other parts of the world, people wouldn't have to be enslaved to the car and auto insurance companies. 7 year $500 note on your King Ranch and $600 note on the old lady's Denali plus 400/mth insurance and fuel costs. Yeah that's real smart. People are sheep being lead by whoever runs the most Superbowl ads.

This thread, all the Willcovers and the Flo thread are evidence of how much the US is willing to live a life of servitude to the auto industry.

With decent public transportation there are no DUI's, there is no Flo and people are free to enjoy their lives.

There is pride in buying a completely restored car BUT MUCH MORE SO when you do it yourself.

Jay Leno (and others) will tell you they've lost money in the market, but not on their classic cars.

Good luck in your search and BOLO for the tin worm.
