re: Do the cops sitting on I-12 E at the split actually do anything?

Never really noticed locals there as much as the constant presence of a Border Patrol Yukon and never see them pulling anyone over

This is not how the legal system works. Politicians set the laws and the judicial process enforces it. I'd contact your representative.
And as for everyone else knocking the 10/12 split... I see these guys chillin' out there but how am I suppose to say how much work they put in in a 12 hr shift if it takes 2-3 seconds to pass them? Are you rubberneckers responsible for the daily traffic debacle that plagues the split because y'all are pissed off some "lazy city employees" aren't "doing anything?" There are far bigger issues with BR city employees that piss me off than a circle jerk at the 10/12 split.

They cause a lot of people to blink their lights

I used to live off airline. They definitely pull people over. I would always see how fast I could go without getting pulled over. Fastest I tried was 78 which is 18 over in that spot.
At night I think they look for DWBs because that's all I really saw getting pulled over. Also, Border Patrol camps out there I believe becasue that stretch if highway is big for human trafficking.

That's a GREAT question. I don't know if they are BR PD or not. I see Homeland security and boarder patrol agents there a lot. Any idea why? There used to be a lot of cops gunning at the split there but not so much anymore.

I believe he's alluding to Interdiction. If he is, then they would be looking for any type of crime in progress such as Drug trafficking, sex trafficking, kidnapping, etc. Judging by his vague and staunch defense of them, I think that's what they do. If that's the case then I am happy they are out there

How does a cop just sitting on the interstate determine when human trafficking and drug traffic are taking place?
Cop 1: [picking up radio] you see that right there, Joe?
Cop 2: Yup, looks like a red Toyota Corolla to me. Lots of drug dealings and human smugglers have been traveling in em lately, let's puller over.
Cop 1: [picking up the radio] you see that weighted down car right there, Joe?
Cop 2: Yup, if I had to guess, probably about 15 people in that car by how low its riding. Gotta be human smugglers. Let's puller over.

Forgive me but what does a vehicle used for human trafficking look like and how does sitting at an interchange help you find it? Do they have active Intel to BOLO a specific car?
Every time I see the officers parked there, it is usually multiple agencies so I just figure it was a quick cross agency info swap by the guys on the ground level.

Why would you do that?

I know it sounds dumb, but I've had it explained to me once a long time ago so I only have surface level knowledge of how it works. I do know there is a lot more to it than you'd think and they have national trainings put in by the FBI and specialists on it. I think they developed techniques from watching the border. That's the extent of my knowledge on the subject, but I agree it sounds silly at first
I've already said too much. Tactical would kill me if he knew I was even speaking to you

Let me guess, smuggling hot LSU sorority chicks from campus to Unchduifstan under the cover of night to be used as sex slaves, right?
You've watched the Taken movies too many times.

I should know better than to try and reason with an OT dumbdumb, but I'll give this one a shot.
First, can you read? You posted a link validating my comment that law enforcement enforce laws enacted by politicians. The headlines even state "Senate committee passes medical marijuana"
Your move there jackass.

I am amused that you flowered up the old "We are fighting the war on drugs" mantra. Is a real answer available or are you sticking with that?
Uhh, he wanted to know why the police presence was constant in that location.
I don't work for the city or white knight cops, I'm just telling you one of the several reasons.

The sheriff lobbies the lawmakers. You pigs can't hide behind just enforcing the laws.
