After browsing through hundreds of profiles on Tinder/Hot or Not the past few days, lots and lots of profiles contain some broad who is not attractive but tries really hard to take a selfie that is, and obviously wouldn't post it as their main profile pic if they didn't think it made them look good
As far as myself... I think I am the textbook definition of a "5". I am not ugly IMO but I don't think I am anything special either. I am average.
