The most overrated and overpriced brand there is.

I keep one of these in my car. Probably the most versatile multi tool available. All stainless steel.

When I first moved to Montana 15 years ago I was knife shamed because I didn't have one in my pocket. I have carried one ever since.

Nope.
Don't really have a need in my day-to-day life for one.
The whole point is that you never know when you will need one. Its a good idea to keep one in your vehicle as well..

I carry a Kershaw, it's decent. My brother turns 40 next week and I want to get him something around $100...was thinking of a decent pocket knife - any recommendations at that price point?

I keep a little Swiss army knife on my desk to open envelopes, trim my nails and cut boxes open and stuff. I use it almost every day.
I own several "regular" size pocket knives and carry one if I am working on my farm. My favorite is a case drop point single blade knife I have owned for 30 years. It holds an edge.
I also keep a couple of multi task tools like a Leatherman but knockoffs in my truck and I find I use them more than I thought.
Carry every day---no I do not.

The Benchmade mini Griptilian is a phenomenal knifr, as Saskwatch rec'd, and the axis lock is probably the best there is but it's still a little thicker than some other EDCs so if he's sensitive to things in his pocket you might want to look at something thinner. When I did a bunch of research for my knife the minigrip made the final two or three. I ended up going with the Spyderco dragonfly 2 salt because of the thinner profile and their saltwater blade material. It also uses a simple back lock and thumbhole deployment which isn't as convenient as the mini grips but it's more durable and reliable from the kiss philosophy standpoint

I have the 940-1601. It was exclusive to BassPro and Cabelas. I love the carbon fiber and wood bolster.
