What does it feel like?

Imagine starting with this gassy but slight discomfort in your belly but near your side.

Then after 30 min it starts to intensify where it feels a knife is going in your back and your side quivers with pain that rotates from awful to horrendous to kill your grandmother every 2 seconds.

Imagine taking a piss and bloody urine pours out and feels like a hornet is stinging your cock. Your "channels" that produce urine -- your tubes -- quiver and quiver and hurt.

Then imagine sweats and vomiting that go with the pain. You cannot move. You cannot get comfortable. You cuss even if Jesus is with you. You cannot drive yourself to the hospital.

But then...hospital. unbearable until you get a bed...and Dilaudid and morphine get to you. And you feel like Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction.

Not true. The back pain is where is starts. Kindey stones can make you think it’s your back until it starts to travel

It feels like someone used a shrink ray on a chimpanzee with a knife collection and stuck that fricker in your kidney with a map to the exit. Only problem is he is still not small enough to fit through that tiny tube so he hacks his way through while he is trying to get out.

In summation: it is the worst, most exquisite pain you will ever experience. Pray this is the one and only time you have one.

You can have them at a young age, especially if there is family history of it

Turns out I have to get a CT scan. What the heck?

not a bad idea to figure out if you have one. that way, when the bastard decides to move, you are just in a good bit of pain, but not really scared of dying.

also, if it is already too big to pass, they can use sound waves to smash it into pea gravel.

Didn’t you already get it checked out? How else did your doctor tell you it was a kidney stone?

Just go ahead and get the MRI so you can figure out exactly what is going on. doc may not want to do anything at all, but at least you'll know what you are dealing with.

ETA: meant CT scan...

I've had about 20 of them over the years and they hurt like hell as they make they way from the kidney to the bladder.

It can be the worst pain you've ever experienced in your life it they are big enough. The biggest one I passed on my own was over 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch round and took 2 weeks to do so.

I wouldn't wish them on anyone-----even my worst enemy.

Get you some toradol. Non-narcotic pain med. Keep some handy in case it moves. Toradol will be your best friend of stones moves.
