What an interesting and celebrated cultcha.

I agree LEO culture is insane in some areas/circumstances

No need for that response by the cop.

Most high speed chases are unnecessary and more about the cops ego than keeping the public safe from a guy that didn't want a speeding ticket.
And it's usually innocent citizens that get killed.

Cant outrun the cop radio though.

They can if the pursuing cop can't get a bead on where they are going to be because the perp keeps changing direction.

He was one of the better pursuit driving cops I've seen, right up until the end, of course.

You watch way too many cop tv shows to think more than half of that is viable or legal

Why would it not be viable and what are the illegalities?

Hazen PD in Arkansas has an old cruiser that can hit 170 easy. Saw a dashcam video of him chasing a guy on I-40 one day. He was flying.

Unless the driver was wanted for murder, that is ridiculous. At least no one was killed.

Yep! The cop blew thru 2 red lights at a VERY high rate of speed. Miracle that he didn't kill someone.

You mean the loan holders last place of employment, not the driver. Most likely a CNA that was really hoping she found Mr. Right.

Per at least one EV supporter/owner here, LEO officers often have cars stopped by the manufacturer (eg On-Star).

I have yet to see that despite watching far too many cop shows and YT car chases..

License tags have a way of getting the driver busted.

I agree. One cop at the home address and one cop at the last place of employment.

Highway scanners active for the license plate.

If need be, get a warrant for the cell phone (location).
most have license plates blocked out with "shades"

There is a black hellcat in Arkansas that Highway patrol gets in chases with regularly. Dude runs it at night with no plates and no lights. Must be driving with NODS.

NGL I was impressed the cop lasted as long as they did. I was expecting the car to zoom around a corner and turn off all of its lights and hide.

I saw a show where they did that to a Camaro. The officers waited until the car was damaged a bit (I think they spiked the tires) and the chase slowed down and they had ON-STAR disable the car and lock the suspect in
