Lafayette's downtown (this potential building included) makes Shreveport/Bossier's downtown look like Manhattans

Seriously? In Louisiana?
That is way too modern looking for Louisiana.
THIS is what's needed for Louisiana

I check in there periodically but the censorship takes the fun away

Can’t beat this for ugly/out-of-place head-scratcher:

I was about to say “good for Lafayette” until I saw the render…
Seems that design wastes a lot of square footage.
It could look good in the proper area.

Don't know what everyone's so down about it for. It doesn't look that bad. It's actually kinda marvelous engineering in the design to have all of the curved windows like that. You New Iberia haircut baws should be happy you're even getting a skyline in Lafayette. Damn.
I kid, take it easy.

This looks like the CGI offices out by the cajundome (and that atrocious other building across the street from it) to shame.
Those two buildings are the ugliest in lafayette.

Edit: He was stabbed, not shot. My bad. I always remember it being a shooting.
But it made headlines because it was some drunk dudes from texas who basically stomped a mudhole into him for no reason and then stabbed him to death.
Court of Appeal Ruling
It doesn't sound like this went down the way that you are describing it.

Shreveport, for all its problems, does have a semi-impressive skyline.

Literally going to get rid of a seafood staple and the best crawfish bisque in lafayette for a fricking brewpub.
I'm done with this city. Dons is a monument.
You should be mad at Dons (the "monument"). The owners of Don's closed down Don's.
The brewhouse developer people are doing something with the building that Don's abandoned when they closed down their restaurant/monument.

Luke never instigated shite even when shitfaced wasted around me. I never saw that guy throw a first punch at any bar he'd go or I'd run into him at. I will say this though, he'd defend himself and back up a fellow baw if he was getting his arse whooped.
Everyone close to him and everyone who knows him chronicles the night similar to what was said in court, but the texans instigated it. Luke was drunk, threw the first punch, and then got stabbed to death. The punks couldn't defend themselves.
Luke was basically a typical early 20s baw who got into an arguement that was escalated well too far. But they provoked him, he threw the first punch, and instead of fighting like men or stepping down, he was murdered for it.
shite like that is why I don't hit the bars outside of an event or never go to clubs. Well, besides the fact that i'm closing in on 40. People are volatile and shite gets out of hand.

DT is not Freetown. Freetown ends at Johnston Street

Read the whole topic before replying. Someone let me know and clarified that dons was already closed a year prior to being bought out.
And everyone here agrees that dons downtown was legendary and it's a shame it closed/building went to waste.
That post was made prior to me knowing and I thought it was a dinos/prejeauns situation where dons got bought out by another upstart brewhouse place.

It's like saying north baton rouge and mid city aren't the same because florida seperates them.
The trash flows both ways. Freetown and downtown are so close together that they might as well be close to the same thing.
