There is a reason for that and we all know what that is.

What does Matt Watson do for work?

Yet to be determined.

He used to sell suits at Cohn Turner, but that was about 20 years ago

Well..

The options seemed pretty bad before the forum. And they seem pretty bad after.

I liked that Piazza could actually spit out statistics and numbers, so he seems well-prepared, but there's something ... squirrely about him. I question his motivations. And he has a punchable face.

Watson seems like a Republican I can vote for, but I didn't really like his little spats with Broome. Seems childish. Not really enough to sway a vote but I was a little disappointed in that. He seems like a guy who cares.

Broome is ... Broome. Marcelle didn't answer shite for shite. Guirard.. he's interesting, to say the least. I found myself agreeing with some of what he said but some of his ideas are just too outside-the-box for me, plus his whole t-shirt and jeans and disheveled hair look didn't do him any good.

Carter.. seems like he's trying to be the adult in the room. Maybe need to read a little more on him?

Piazza would be a billion times better than Broome, and like 10 billion times better than Marcelle, but yeah he has little to no shot.

His comments about needing more tax payers and not more taxes was pretty spot on about the issues in EBRP.

To me, the mask mandate is a big deal because it shows that he has a very different sense of the role and power of government than I do. Anyone who believes the government should have the power to mandate masks let alone argue in favor of exercising that power is not someone I want running the city I live in.

IMHO, Watson is justified if you know some of the background.

A few things such as a plan to bring jobs to NBR got shitcanned by SWB and Chauna Banks because doing so would have meant credit went to Watson for obtaining the grant in question.

He touched on a very good point..
EBR population is flat yet our parish budget, the library budget and the BREC budget keeps creeping up over time, after a decade of no growth we see a substantial budget growth everywhere. That doesn’t add up,

His office toes the line between BR and St George. I think that side of the interstate is BR but the neighborhood opposite it is St George.

I really think this stems from being on the council and having to deal with Broome a lot. I think he is pretty tired of her and it showed. Ask any of the BR police if they like Broome and watch as their blood pressure goes sky high.
