This is why my oldest is going to an all boys Catholic high school next year after being in public k-8. Public school system is a joke. He had an algebra final today that he did not study for and got a 103 on it.

K-6 was the only time of my life where i was on honor roll or banner roll

bulk of the kids with all A's. Is this normal now? Maybe it is just our kid's school, but elementary school should not be easy for everyone.
Well, the school should be teaching a set curriculum. If the children test well against that, they deserve good grades.
I worried about the same issue when my kids were young. I asked around and found out all kids were not getting "all A's". Some kids transferred out. Others spent all night on homework with their parents.
I even asked at local high schools about our grammar school, was told not to worry.
Schools differ, ask around.

I went to private school and never studied then or in college and made "strait" A's. If you pay attention, you don't need to study.

Several years ago we attended the 8th grade grad ceremony(crazy) for my son, a BR Private school. Out of about 100 students over 80 had straight A's for 6th,7th, and 8th grade! That is ridiculous.
We pulled our son out and moved him to another private school for high school. Despite having straight A's, he was a little behind those that were already in the system at the next school. He did well but it really pissed us off to see how they were more concerned with parents being happy that little Johnny had straight A's than if he was being challenged.

It seems that you’ve identified the root cause of the issue.

He has autism not that I am blaming that 100% but it is difficult for him to learn and retain information.

If the entire class is getting perfect scores, the class is probably too easy.
Not necessarily. What are the long term trends? Perhaps your kid's class is just mature or intelligent.
Maturity has a LOT to do with it at those young ages.
ETA: my son took his Latin exam today (all boy's Private school). It was his only exam because they DO NOT exempt from Latin....
Not so subtle, I sired a Genius brag.

Cream rises to the top. If your kid is smart enough, you don't have to say it. People know.
Lower school letter grading is totally for the parents egos.
As they get older, standardized testing is the great equalizer.

I used to have a porn vhs tape that was called "straight A's".
A's were not grades. It was Anuses

I have 5 kids. 4 or school age. 3 are straight a’s. One has had the hardest time with reading despite tutoring, extra work at home, etc. She has to work twice as hard to achieve c’s. It’s made me extremely appreciative of the straight a’s.

My daughter doesn't get grades via letters. It's a 1-4 scale on level of mastery of specific items. I get it but kind of annoys me.

My kid is repeating first grade next year so there's that.

2 kids made straight As in my first graders class out of 22.
Mine missed 1 problem on 1 test the entire year. Not subtle brag.
