Nope. I moved away after graduating from LSU. Never done roubaix, but when ever it comes back I will be there. I have done chris lemonie's race in st. Francisville and Lafayette. Never done any of the other races. If you do or have done Gerard's tues/thursday ride in BTR, then you have likely met me

Chem Eng Dept made us take plant design our senior year. We had a 5 man team and designed a high density polyethylene plant.

We had some bad choices my year. We had some car project like others talk about in here, but I finished up my degree during fall semester and it was something you had to do the full year.
Options I had to choose from were face recognition tracking that was 99% software, turning a Segway into an autonomous vehicle with sensors for detecting explosives and other things, and some kind of battery project to do a study on different types of batteries.
I should of picked the stupid face tracking one even though I was a power/microelectronics focused engineer cause that was the pet project of the professor for the class and he graded each group on a curve. So the best project group got an A, next got B+, next B. His pet project of course got the A in a freakin 5 credit hour class.
I ended up doing the stupid Segway, we got the B+. It was a horrible project because we had limited funds and the professor was basically wanting us to break Segway’s encryption to make it work the way he wanted. We didn’t have the knowledge or expertise to do that s**t and we made it work a very basic way tricking it into thinking a human was on it.
It was fun to drive around campus remotely and screw with people though. It was a giant waste of time overall and dragged my GPA down by hitting it with that stupid 5 credit hours.

FSAE 2006. We saw this as a problem and our goal was to make sure cars weren’t cannibalized and it would continue. We finished 43rd or something like that out of 120 teams. Best finish ever for LSU and that stood for another 5-10 years. My biggest accomplishment is the fact that we succeeded in making sure it continued as they have built a car every year since and it’s a thriving club activity now. Check out their Instagram @formulalsu. They build way better cars now than we did!
Also my girlfriend designed the logo they are still using.
Sorry but we canibalized y’all’s car.
But yeah, I’m proud to see how well the program has grown and is doing so well these days.

PETE grad. WE did a project on plug isolation in a wellbore by pumping cement through perforations that were shot from a separate wellbore travelling along side it. It was a lot of fun. Our project was actually used as evidence for a company in the gulf to show the plug would not hold up. We had a ton of man hours in scaling the design and building a manifold to show how the cement would enter and travel within the bad well. Halliburton even helped with the cement.

2019, group of 3 EEs (me) and 1 ECE. You're not supposed to pick your own group but by nefarious deeds and careful planning, we were able to pick a dream team. Our machine basically laser-printed circuit boards for the PCB lab in PFT. Much faster, more precise, and much cheaper to produce and maintain than the current tech they had in the lab. On time, under budget, we all got A's (please somebody frickin hire me). Presented to the ECE Advisory Board

(3) person group of Mechanical Engineering students. Designed and built a portable dew-point monitor to determine the dew-point in exhaust gas. Tested for our professors at the LSU Physical plant.
