That's where you're wrong. I had a rather hostile conversation with someone that worked for a neighboring utility (CLECO). I said all the things that the typical OT's said about poor service, poor reliability, high rates, etc.

By the time he was done explaining how they operate on shoestring budgets because they have to keep rates low (due to the poverty of the customer base), I was apologizing. Regulators always err on the side of voters. If they approve a rate increase, it was probably 10-15 years overdue.

Louisiana politics are what's wrong with Louisiana.

Some of the cheapest rates in the country

Power went out again. 1:53 AM. No inclement weather whatsoever. I've got scared kids who have school in the morning, and an upset wife. Lovely.

Estimated restoration time is 4 AM but like last time, that's based on "historical data" and nothing real-time related to whatever this outage is caused by. Another generic and falsely optimistic auto response.

Again, Nola is supposed to be hosting the Superbowl in January. Remember last time? Entergy can't keep the power running on a dead calm summer night. This is Louisiana's only Fortune 500 company, by the way. Their executives are failing upwards faster than shite through a goose.

Settlers on the old frontier were better off with gas lamps in their covered wagons.

Could be a drunk hitting a pole.

Or a squirrel getting into substation. City of Houma had that happen to them Sunday night. I wonder if the squirrel was watching the LSU vs. USC game and said that’s enough and electrocuted himself
