re: Forget violent rapist Alton Sterling, it's Philando Castile who needs coverage

I don't believe the video from Minnesota today. The woman is entirely too calm while the boy friend is dying beside her. If someone beside me was just shot, the absolute last thing I would think of is turning on my fb to stream the events.
We don't know what transpired before the video started. I'm saving judgement for routine toxicology reports of all persons at the scene and thorough investigation.
"He's black, he had to have been on PCP!"

So you think the whole thing was staged, with ketchup and all? I mean it's verified he was shot. She did it; filmed the aftermath.

Nah. I'm simply saying something does not add up there. Yes he was shot and yes he died. The calmness of the driver is extremely odd to me.
I don't care what color the victim, cop, driver, etc are. Something doesn't add up on this one.

Unlike Alton Sterling who had an extensive criminal consisting of rape, domestic violence, drug dealing, burglary, possession of stolen goods/firearms, and other charges which prove he was a violent individual, Philando Castile was a hard working man who did things the right way. Castile was employed at a school, had never been arrested, and went through the correct legal channels to attain a concealed carry permit. While I believe Alton Sterling likely reached for his weapon in order to harm the arresting officers, the testimony Castile's fiancee provides backs up the fact that he was very likely a good man who was murdered by overzealous police. This is the first nationally publicized incident (Gray, Brown, Rice) where I truly feel like the police were in the wrong and should be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
"He let the officer know that he had a firearm and he was reaching for his wallet and the officer just shot him in his arm,"
"Kids loved him. He was smart, overqualified," the unnamed co-worker said in the school district statement. "I knew him as warm and funny; he called me his 'wing man.' He wore a shirt and tie to his supervisor interview and said his goal was to one day 'sit on the other side of this table
Both incidences deserve attention. In both instances cops were wrong and should be charged with a minimum of manslaughter.
Cops are a bigger threat today than Islamic terrorists.

yea, it's unfathomable that some high school drop out handed a gun and a badge could frick up and off someone unjustifiably

This thread is exactly what's wrong with all these fricking protests - making statements and assumptions based on one side of the story. What if Castille had the gun in his hands and this is revealed after an investigation? Like wait until all the facts come out before you say Castille did nothing.
No one knows what happened leading up to the video being shot except the people in the car and the police officer. The people investigating will find out in due time. If the cop fricked up he should rot. If he didn't he should walk. End of story.

I agree.
The whole thing is really odd with her Facebook streaming, but that cop from the video knew he had fricked up. You could hear it in his voice.
That stream video though. ...
Really wished I wouldn't have watched it. Watching a guy that's been shot 4 times (I think 4?) slowly die with blood everywhere .
Just terrible. .

I would bet good money that she was on something during that video. She's entirely too calm when he's dying beside her. This is irrelevant to the passenger being shot at the moment, but something is certainly off.

You're going to get nowhere with this crowd.
Dude got 4 bullets in him sitting in his car with his seat belt on and GF in passenger seat because of a broken tail light traffic stop.
Regardless if the GF "should have" acted differently in a shock situation, if she didn't do what she did, it would be chalked up as another justified police shooting.
The demographic of this board is too lopsided to even give a frick. Blind leading the naked.

There's not a part of you that can believe that? Come on. I nor anyone can say that with 100% certainty. But it seems rather plausible to me that had the guy been white this would have played out differently.
Yeah sure I can believe it, but it doesn't change the fact that it is irresponsible for the governor to say.

It's like the white privelage thread. It boggles my mind that there's a large number of people here that think it isn't more advantageous to be white in America than black. And to go further that black people have it better in this country. Just astounds me.
Yeah I completely agree here.

Look at your signature quote. Got to love the irony of Mr. "Small government" defending the actions of a low level, unqualified government agent running around shooting people indiscriminately.

Does it matter to anyone that the cop was Asian? Shitty thing happened but these always turn black vs white. How does it play out with BLM? Is Asian just another white?

In America he sorta, kinda has a point. LEOs killed 965 people in America in 2015. 564 had a gun, 281 had another weapon, and 90 were unarmed. That's not to say that all who were unarmed were unjustified nor were all armed victims necessarily justified cases.
I cannot find 2015 numbers for US deaths for terrorism, but in 2014 32 people were killed here and abroad.

Cause they love sucking on Trumps c**k and all black people deserve to be lynched and burned to them.

Anyone who thinks Castile was shot because the cop was racist or just because he wanted to is an idiot. He told him he had a gun as he was already reaching, I know he did not have any malicious intent to do harm to the cop but thats not how you are trained as a CCW holder. The cop panicked and shot because when you have a millisecond to make a decision there inst time for second guessing your first instinct. Look up police being killed in traffic stops and see how common it is. Neither of the parties involved had malicious intent but that is not an excuse, a man is still dead so I expect something to come of this, but to say the cop is a racist POS is untruthful. Nobody ever wants to shoot another person, its the absolute last resort, now he has to live with this and relive the worst moment of his life forever.

So by that logic you should tremble in fear when you bump into a police officer in a back ally, but if Jihadi john walks by you can rest easy.

In fairness, the cop still had his gun drawn on both of them after he just shot her boyfriend to death. I might remain pretty calm too, being fearful of my life

Its really fricked up. Tragic.
