I have no idea how the F this would work.

It won’t, for the reasons you stated and all the rivers that dump shite tons of tannins into the Sound from the Lake, the Bay, Biloxi Bay, all the way to the Pascagoula River. The barrier islands help block and settle the sediment before it reaches the gulf where a semblance of clear water begins, but this idea is just crazy talk.

Isn’t the water bluer when you get to Ship, Horn and Cat Island?

Ya it's much nicer.

Was always fun riding out to Horn on the weekend and getting nice and drunk.

I'd settle for Biloxi just not releasing sewage into the Sound.

I'm fine with the barrier islands being the nice water beach retreats on the MS coast. It's kinda like a secluded hideaway for people to discover. Besides, the islands are federally protected.

We sure Ben Wyatt didn’t come up with this idea?

Quickest way to make MS coast look like the FL Panhandle would be to allow Mississippi River to permanently divert down the Atchafalaya. The sediment from the current delta is what prevents blue water and white sand in MS now. If the river delta was 150 miles further to the west, the blue water and white sand ecosystems would also shift 150 miles to the west, more or less.

The true Mississippi way would be to dye the water, like all the neighborhoods do to their retention ponds.

Isn't Bay St. Louis/ Waveland one of the best crabbing areas out side of Louisiana?

Not sure how you don't screw up the ecology/ fisheries. But if you prefer that A-1A market/ money share I guess its worth a shot.

Oh damn you're right. Just looked at the daily satellite photos for water clarity and there is a ton of sediment from the pearl as well as mobile bay.

This is a great idea. if it worked, there'd be a big increase in interest for vacationers to the Ms Gulf Coast.
