It''s supposed to be okay. Good gifted program and newer facilities.
Is Woodlawn the school with the main building that was falling apart about 20 years ago?

Send your kids to one of the private or parochial schools in that area. Avoid Woodlawn. It's changed since Katrina, and gets put on lock-down quite a bit these days. It was a great school when my older nephew went there (at the old location), but had changed dramatically when his younger brother went to the school (new location). The influx of Katrina people and those taking advantage of the "minority to majority" transfers have severely diminished the overall quality and safety of the school.

Most can if they prioritze. I worked two jobs and drove old cars to send my kids to Catholic schools.

Louisiana Academic Report Cards
60-40 Black-White which is about the best you'll get if you are non-black in EBR. Not a racial judgement, just a comfort assessment.
Graded out at a C on the report card scale

A friend of mine who is a police officer said he receives the most disturbance calls from Woodlawn High School of all the schools in the parish.

I came from a middle class family and both me and my brother were able to go to Catholic High. It's all about how you prioritize and budget your money.

where the white trash, ghetto blacks, and a few mexicans go. its the denham springs of baton rouge schools.
Let's say that I have direct and recent experience with both WHS and DSHS. They are very different.
WHS has many, many problems, but it is the best overall high school in EBR that is not called BRH.
