I'm guessing they were tired of the "scene"

My best friend is marrying a girl he met on eharmony.

True story. Nothing wrong with it.

Working long hours in certain industries doesn't lend itself to meeting new people. I'm my buddy's case, most of our group was already married.

Honestly though, I didn't really have any experience with that. I only dated two girls on OKC.

It's probably true though, considering like 80% of people have an STD, and therefore a majority of the people on any site will have an STD.

Had a lot of success with POF. Met the girl I'm going to marry on there. POF is known for easy hookups but I actually found a quality relationship and future wife.

I had only been living in PHX for less than 2 years and had been dating a guy for most of that. So when we broke up I didn't have a lot of people I knew that wasn't in his circle of friends. Between that and not wanting to meet guys in bars and wanting a guy that shared my faith...figured online dating might be worth a shot.

I'm generally bad at meeting/talking to people in social environments. I'm pretty weird and nerdy.

well that's not surprising considering eharmony matches you on 29 of the deepest levels of compatibility

because you're obviously too stupid to look at a catalog of girls to do it yourself

I really don't understand why people pay for this shite when good free sites are available

dunno, I've never explored it. I want to say he has herpes, and i know the girl he found on there does also. He's pretty open about it with his close friends. I don't know how they designate it on the site, or if they even do. He just acted like it was understood

paying for a dating service shows the opposite sex that i'm committed to finding a real, lasting relationship

Because you get what you pay for. If you live in a big city you are gonna have a better selection of people on the paid sites than the free ones.

Met my wife on eharmony. I love in nyc so the choices are pretty much unlimited. Crazy thing is that I had actually met the girl I married five years before at a Halloween in NYC. I was living in MS at the time and engaged to my ex. We figured it out about three months after we started dating.
