I was told the Hemi V8 was discontinued after '23 or '24(?).
The 5.7 HEMI* is coming back for 2026.
* I hate that misleading moniker! I agree it sounds better than 5.7L OBLATE SPHEROID but a lie is a lie.

If you can, I’d wait for the 2026/27 models just for the new warranty they announced.

I upgraded my first generation Tundra last year and tried really hard to talk myself into a roughly 10 yr old Ram 2500 gas but the transmissions were having a really high failure rate. I ended up getting the last of the V8 Tundras and have been happy with it. I hear the transmissions in the diesel Rams is very good though, but I don't haul enough to justify diesel.

I like the 2500s. Been walking the lot for a couple years now with a guy in Tomball. Tundra just won’t bite the bullet. 240,000 miles and purrs like kitten. When it does, that’ll be my next truck. Thinking early 2027

Yessir, absolutely I do. Group I work for has the Big 3(GM, Ford, Ram) & Toyota. There is absolutely nothing nicer than the 2026 Ram 1500 Tungsten

At what point did they not have a V8 option, b/c the current generation (2019-2025) does, and so did the one before (2011-2018)?
Pretty sure 25' models only come with a V6 3.0.

2023 Ram 2500 Rebel pkg. Best truck I've ever had. And I've had 'em all.

Absolute junk. Doors and hinges are super junky and made of nothing. Any chrystler product is a second rate vehicle. I don’t care what any one says.

I own 8 of them and am buying another 5500 on Thursday.
If that doesn’t speak for the brand, I don’t know what does.
I asked my guys last week….F-550/650; Chevy/International 5500/6500; Freightliner/Mack/KW/Pete Medium Duty or another 5500 Ram?
Every one said “Let’s stick with the Rams”
When diesel techs (who are snarky and particular to begin with) like something, there is a reason.
We have 3 1500s, 1 2500, 2 3500s, and now 3 5500s all 2021 and up.
Also have Toyota, and the new 4 cyl GM. Have had Super Duty’s, and a gamut of 5.3, 6.0, and 6.2 GMs.
Ram pricing has been good, dealers have been good, and reliability has been good.
10/10 would reccomend.
ETA- I love how the guy above me says they are junk when a) he probably doesn’t own one. b) if he does, it’s only one and c) has NEVER been in a 5500 crane truck that weighs over 20,000 lbs. being drug across a jobsite by an excavator.

I bought the Ram 1500 with the Hurricane engine in February. I was worried about it having a new V6 design, etc. However, I bought it for $22,000 cheaper than I could get a Ford or Chevy. So, I said to hell with is and realized I might pay in repairs later what I saved buying the truck over other brands.
I drove every truck and model. I wasnt in a hurry.
I ended up buying the 1500 Laramie with Standard Output I6 (420 hp).
The truck freaking flies. I enjoy driving it every day.
No regrets.

In-line 6. Big power, super smooth, forged internals I would worry about longevity. Get one with the 5.7

No trouble so far with my 21 Hemi. I plan to keep it as long as possible.
Posted on 8/19/25 at 7:42 pm to YouKnowImRight
I have a 2022 Rebel 5.7 53,000 miles live my truck ride better that Ford and Chevy. Also have a 2024 Ram Laramie for work zero complaints on it also. Never once thought I would buy a Ram.

In January I got rid of a 2015 Ram 1500 (Laramie trim) at 115,000 miles. Had zero problems. No clue how the newer, non Hemi trucks hold up.
Needed a bigger family vehicle so I bought a Z71 Tahoe. All good so far but thinking I might regret it if the litany of bad reviews are true.

Yeah I’ve been having the new truck itch too but my Tundra is just too reliable to let go. At 163k miles it’s just getting broken in. So I might get a new truck but I’m not selling the tundra.

Trashy fricks. They always tailgate you on the interstate and drive 100 mph

I drove fords for 20 years. Bought Ram limited 3500 a year ago after research and ride. Air suspension and ride is great. Totally satisfied!
