Smoke a joint and crank up the Neville Brothers. It's not quite the same but you can make it work.

I used to own a condo there overlooking the 6th green of the Desoto Course. Sold it when I got divorced, but very fond memories. Well cared for courses.

You should look for a place on the tax sale to buy. That's what I did. Bought a lot at tax sale for $600, then after a year, turned around and traded it in towards the condo and received a $25k credit for the lot.

Visited last year for this very reason, very nice and hilly, but got the chiggers bad on feet and lower legs while on a nature trail and needed two months to fully heal. Several golf courses in the gated community if you’re into it.

There's absolutely NOTHING to do in Heber Springs other than golf and fish. No restaurant scene, no entertainment, nothing.
can confirm. Friends mom used to live there.

I prefer Grand Lake, OK much more from purely a fishing perspective.

Golf, lakes, amenities are great. Hot Springs itself is closer than it seems. It will snow ~1 inch maybe twice a year max.

There is getting to be a lot of Yankees moving south from Chicago, etc. This means prices are going up and some attitudes are changing. There are two types of Yankees in the village:

1. Demanding, self righteous assholes who think everyone should move heaven and earth for their every whim. "Do you know who I am" types. This type of neighbor can suck in a hurry
2. Quiet and keeps to themselves. This group generally has more money but doesn't flaunt it. Nice folks

Group 1 is smaller than group 2 for now, but group 1 is growing fast

It’s like 20 minutes from Hot Springs. Property right now is crazy, houses sell a lot of times before they hit the listing. Still semi affordable though

Sitting right now in a place we bought before it hit the market last yr, we rent it out when not visiting.

Love the hiking, lakes, and scenery... not to mention Lake Ouachita is 25 mins away and is absolutely stunning, I have shown ppl pics of it and they cannot believe it.
