I don't live in Houston, but in the "Greater Houston" area. I've had friends visit and they get the Amber Alerts and stuff. They start with the "I didn't realize Houston was so dangerous". Then I kindly remind them that the Greater Houston area has a far larger population than the entire state of Louisiana. If you shoved NOLA, BR and Shreveport all together, you'd have the most dogshite metro area the planet has ever seen. the Houston area would look like the Garden of Eden.

that makes more sense. i’m sitting here trying to imagine how that area to River Oaks looks ghetto now. hard to imagine.
Yeah, guess my sarcasm didn’t come out enough. Good area to run early mornings before traffic picks up.
Just have to keep your head on a swivel due to those Olsteen mafia thugs!

Yeah, I'm in the Westchase area.
I stayed in the Hilton right there last summer for a couple nights. Came in to hang out with a couple of old friends. The hotel definitely had a bet of a sketchy feel. My buddy lived just on the other side of belt way 8 and it seemed like a nice quiet neighborhood. That Sunday morning when I left to head out, I saw on the news there was a arm robbery/shooting at the ATM at the Kroger that was right there.

ETA Upon further google research it does appear to be closed. Big sad.

Buffalo Speedway/Greenway.
Extremely dangerous part of town. I would never walk down there alone.
OK, just saw the sarcasm.
