They wouldn't look so pretty with skid marks, cracks, etc. Plus it turns out they're pretty damn expensive.

How much do the average set of solar panels cost, installed on a house? Now how long does it take to recoup that total cost? Do you think the subsidies are not real money? Fairy money that just appears for free? If solar panels are legit then let them stand on their own without subsidies. It really is frightening how people try to reconcile things in their mind. Everything given to one person by the gov't was taken from someone else. If I give my daughter $20 to go shopping and she buys a shirt for $30 ($10 of her own money) does the shirt only cost $10 because I subsidized the rest? Hell no, it's still $30. She's only 12 and has the sense to not go around telling people the shirt only cost $10.
