Oh, I don’t even know what that means. I was told a brand and just got what looked cool.

It shouldn't be too hard to transition from tennis to pickleball.

There's nothing inherently wrong with the paddles you bought, it's just that paddle technology is evolving quickly and you bought a paddle that came out last year. It's essentially a worse version of the Vatic Pro Prism line (because it lacks foam injected edges), for double the price. If you're spending $150+ on a paddle in today's market, it should be thermoformed.

I cannot believe this is a real thread. Ya'll have got to be fricking with us.

I mean you are hitting a wiffle ball. How strong does it really need to be?

You can buy two paddles for $20 on Amazon. If you end up liking the game and it looks like you might decide to go pro, then buy the expensive paddles.

The TJ Maxx type places have them around that price too.

They should last a while. You can hit a pickleball as hard as you want to, they don't like tennis balls though. .

When a game is invented that’s played while sitting back in a recliner with a cold adult beverage in hand, it will become an Olympic event.

Excuse my pickle ball ignorance, but how much do paddles even cost?

You can get a good starter paddle at Academy or Dick’s for about $60. Play with it for 6 months before upgrading to an expensive one. Gives you time to figure out what type of player you are (Power, control, etc. ). In the end it will be like golf in that the equipment can help, but it comes down to the player.
