I have a feeling that I won't need to worry. I think the longest I can delay her is the end of 2015.

Pros: If you have the second child soon then you are still accustomed to the new-born/infant routine and it won't be such a disruption for everyone.

Cons: That's a lot of physical and mental stress to endure in such a short span of time.

I agree with this. My kids are 15 months apart. Wr stayed in baby mode for 3 years. Potty training the younger one is easier.

We have a 4 1/2 year spread between our two boys. Our first was pretty difficult to deal with and while we'd have liked them to have been closer in ages we did not think we could handle two like the first one.

As it turned out, the second was extremely easy so it would have been fine...but we didn't know that ahead of time.

I'd add, I'd never want 2 kids in diapers at the same time. frick that noise...

Still trying for the first. Pretty sure I am fricked up and can't get the wife pregnant. She'll probably divorce me in the next year or two because of it.

my twin girls are 20 months and my son will be here next week. Never expected twins the first time and this time wasn't planned but I'll be on the chopping block soon.

My two are 11 months apart. The old wives tale that a woman can't get pregnant while breast feeding is bullshite.

But, it worked out really well. They got out of diapers at the same time, they are best friends, etc. I'm sure I'll be cussing up a storm when they start driving, college, etc.

Six and a half years. Which to be honest, after our son was born we started trying like 2 years later but after a while of trying we thought that would be it for us.... But the lord had other ideas and gave us a daughter.

Two years apart. Almost to the day. We began trying immediately (6 weeks) after the first.

Pros: they keep eachother occupied and it's nice having them in the same school some years.

Cons: they bicker and the double whammy of diapers and daycare stings.

There is 3 years between me and my older brother, and we were pretty cool growing up.

My girls are 1 yr/ 10 months apart, and they fight constantly.

There is no magic number here, I think it depends on gender. If both boys or 1b/1g, I don't think age really makes a difference. Now, 2 girls is a nightmare that close together. Girls are catty and petty to each other, but worship big brother (5 yrs older)...at least when they were really small.

Two in diapers sucks bigtime, though.

We're building a new house next year at some point. I think she is just trying to get out of moving stuff.

I told her once we are in the new house, we can knock another one out.
